Texas Southmost College VISTA program

Goal of the TSC VISTA Project: While earning a college credential is a pathway out of poverty, college affordability and the effects of poverty often hinder college completion. Texas Southmost College seeks to leverage best practices and build capacity to dramatically reduce the effects of poverty and increase student retention and completion rates through this project. This VISTA project has the following objectives: increase the college’s capacity to provide academic and personal coaching; support student retention and success; and research, establish, and launch courses designed to alleviate the effects of poverty through the Academy of Lifelong Learning.
