Transportation Security Administration Dallas Love Field Canine
Misión
The National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program (NEDCTP) exists to deter and detect the introduction of explosives devices into the transportation system. The program has been in existence since 1972 and has grown significantly in the past several years due to its proven effectiveness and reliability as a mobile security screening resource. Since 2011, TSA has deployed Passenger Screening Canines (PSC). PSC Teams are vital to TSA’s current risk-based security initiatives given their ability to detect explosives concealed on the body or artfully concealed in a passenger’s accessible property. Today, more than 1,000 funded NEDCTP teams are stationed at more than 100 of the nation’s airports, mass transit, and maritime systems.

Dallas Love Field (DAL) Canine Program is currently seeking volunteers who can act as decoys to work with our teams and assist with canine training. The handlers search travelers and their belongings as they enter the security checkpoint and throughout the airport. Decoys will carry training aids to test Passenger Screening Canines and their handlers as they work to improve the canine’s ability to detect odors.
