    Who We Are: The LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County fosters inclusivity, well being, and social justice for the LGBTQ+ community through advocacy and provision of safe, supportive spaces. The LGBT Equality Alliance partners with businesses, community groups, schools, foundations, and corporations to support LGBTQ+ community members in Chester County through pride festivals, after school events, education programs, art shows, health fairs, youth activities, and more.

    Who You Are: Founded in 2015, the Equality Alliance seeks its first ever staff member as an Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will be deeply embedded in the LGBT community in Chester County. You will be passionate about our mission and empathetic towards our community. You will have entrepreneurial drive and outstanding organizational skills, with the proven ability to create systems. Your past work and volunteer experience will demonstrate leadership, reliability, and responsibility. You communicate well in writing, through social media, and in person.

    Principal Job Responsibilities

    Organizational and Office Systems

    • Board Coordination. Attend Board meetings and participate actively. Support Board activities.
    • Committee Coordination. Sitting in on seven 1-hour monthly committee meetings to ensure operational cohesion
    • Digital Organization. Take primary responsibility for keeping organizational digital files orderly and up to date.
    • Office Hours. Greet visitors, support drop-ins, and represent the organization during public-facing hours
    • Business Directory. Oversee the accuracy and effectiveness of the business directory, including monthly promotion and confirming listings and payments.
    • General administrative support as needed.

    Communication

    • Social Media Management. Create and publish a minimum of 3 posts/week across platforms and manage social media community. Oversee and update the content calendar.
    • Organizational Email. Take responsibility for organizational email, responding promptly and routing requests to committee or Board.
    • Monthly Newsletter. Develop and publish monthly e-newsletter, including creating content, gathering links, formatting, editing, managing the e-list and sending.
    • Website Updates. Update the organizational website as needed, including monthly calendar updates, a regular blog post, and regular refreshed content.

    Events

    • Major Event Coordination. Monitor timelines, curate vendor lists, and update teams for PrideFest, OutFest, and other major events.
    • Event Promotion. Promote events virtually.
    • Meet Up Oversight. Provide oversight to all Meet Up events, ensuring all events are aligned with mission, posted and promoted.

    Fundraising

    • Donor management. Set up and maintain a donor database, track donors, send thank yous.
    • Sponsor Relations. Steward sponsors, including ensuring fulfillment of promised perks, check-ins, thank-yous.
    • Grant Support Coordination. Track grant deliverables, coordinate timelines, and communicate with committees on execution.

    Required Skills/Experience

    • At least 2 years employment experience with a nonprofit organization.
    • Sufficient technological skills to manage Microsoft office, databases, website and social media.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build systems, and volunteer management experience.
    • Strong communication skills in person, in writing, and through social media.
    • Ability to function effectively with minimal supervision.
    • Connection to the LGBT community in Chester County.

    Hybrid Schedule

    This position is expected to work on site on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday from 1 to 5 pm during a three month training period. Following that time, this position is expected to be on site on a regular schedule approved by the Board, including at least one shift from 3 pm to 7 pm.
