Annual Fund Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Annual Fund Coordinator (AFC) will be responsible for the strategic direction and oversite of a comprehensive annual giving program (donors less than $1,000) and lead stewardship and engagement efforts for the ISLE Society (young professionals' network). The AFC will contribute to the creation and management of the revenue and expense budgets relating to this program, report and track fundraising progress, and collaborate in planning cultivation and stewardship events.

The AFC will work with the entire development team to plan, develop, and implement annual fundraising campaigns to support CSIOBS's programs and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop strategies to grow the annual giving rate by acquiring new donors and increasing donations from existing donors.
• Create compelling fundraising appeals and materials to engage donors, alumni and prospective donors.
• Coordinate online and offline fundraising efforts, including email campaigns, direct mail, phone-a-thons, crowdfunding initiatives and other digital strategies.
• Evaluate and report on each appeal highlighting giving trends and program results, and plan for market segmentation for future mailings and/or cultivation activities. Analyze national giving data and trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Cultivate relationships with potential donors and steward relationships with current donors to encourage repeat giving.
• Manage the ISLE Society network for young professionals, including setting strategic direction and goals, committee communications, fundraising and cultivation events, ongoing engagement, and solicitations.
• In partnership with members of the Development & Communications Team, support annual fundraising events and assist with implementing cultivation and stewardship events.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the CEO, Chief Development & Communications Officer or other team members as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
• 2-4 years of fundraising or relevant non-profit experience, particularly with annual fund development and implementation, and knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a specific ability to create donor solicitations, thank you letters, and newsletter copy
• Proven ability to work independently and with a team
• Possess the ability to work well in an extremely fast paced, ever changing environment
• Well organized, detail oriented, and have strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, with competing demands, while maintaining a commitment to excellence
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to create personal relationships and to communicate effectively delivering exceptional customer service to a variety of internal and external stakeholders (i.e. donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff at all levels, students and families), both verbally and in writing)
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and Raiser's Edge or other CRM database software experience required

LOCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

This salaried position will require occasional night and weekend work. CSIOBS Administrative staff work a hybrid schedule. Employees work out of our local office in Boston's Seaport Neighborhood. Occasionally you will be required to go to our island in Boston Harbor for events, meetings, and trainings. Ferry transportation will be provided. A criminal background check is required for this position.
