    About Us

Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County (CLC) is committed to providing early childhood education for all families, with direct services and programs focused on health, nutrition & family support for children 6 weeks – 5 years of age.

Since 1902, CLC has been a cornerstone of the community. CLC is Stamford’s largest early childhood education program, serving over 800 families a year. We provide exceptional early learning experiences in a safe and loving environment that allows kids to grow and learn. One third of every incoming kindergarten class in Stamford public schools are CLC graduates.

CLC’s decades of care have shaped the city and its residents, improving lives for thousands of families across generations. Care work makes all other work possible. When parents and caregivers feel confident dropping their child off, they can focus on pursuing their goals, meeting their family’s needs, and advancing their careers. This benefits the local economy, creates a stronger workforce, and creates brighter economic futures for both parents and kids.

    About the Role

As the Development Operations Coordinator at the Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield, County, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in helping us grow our impact and better serve children and families in our community. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating order from chaos, enjoys working with systems and data, and is energized by being part of a mission-driven team.

You will support fundraising, communications, and events by keeping donor data clean and accurate, coordinating communications, and helping the team stay on track with key initiatives. You’ll work closely with the Foundation and Corporate Engagement Director, Donor Engagement Director and Marketing and Communications Manager, but your day-to-day priorities will be managed by the Chief Development Officer to ensure clarity and focus.

    Your core responsibilities will include:

    Database Management

    • Accurately process donations and generate timely thank-you letters and acknowledgments; work with relationship managers to ensure proper signatures and notes are included, consistent with the stewardship plan
    • Manage the major donor pipeline in Salesforce and prompting relationship managers about next steps
    • Maintain and manage donor data in Salesforce, including list segmentation, pulling reports, and database upkeep
    • Make recommendations on data architecture to best support evaluation and tracking
    • Track and manage the foundation grants pipeline, including deadlines, deliverables, and reporting schedules

    Communications and Events Support

    • Manage and format email communications in Mailchimp and keep email lists up to date
    • Schedule and coordinate social media content across platforms in alignment with communications goals
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising and donor events (e.g., guest lists, RSVPs, materials, follow-ups)
    • Attend and support events (some evenings/weekends may be required)

    Board and CEO Support

    • Maintain up to date board membership materials
    • Provide logistical and project management support for board meetings
    • Support CEO with occasional administrative tasks

    About You

To be maximally successful in this role, you need to be:

    • Someone with outstanding attention to detail who takes pride in accurate, thorough work
    • Highly organized and can manage multiple moving parts without losing track
    • A reliable and optimistic team-player
    • Able to build systems and processes and ensure they run smoothly
    • Respectful, friendly, and responsive in communication with donors and colleagues
    • Comfortable with technology and databases — ideally familiar with Salesforce and Mailchimp, or quick to learn
    • A self-starter who can work independently but also thrives in a collaborative team
    • Committed to the belief that early childhood education is a foundation for lifelong learning, equity, and opportunity

    You need to have:

    • 2–3 years of experience in a nonprofit, education, or mission-driven setting, ideally in development, fundraising, communications, or administrative support
    • A strong working knowledge of CRM systems for donor management; Salesforce experience preferred
    • Familiarity with non-profit fundraising best practices and how these are supported by strong back-end operations
    • Some experience with event planning or logistics coordination, even if it's small-scale (e.g., school events, fundraisers, volunteer coordination)

    Compensación

    Benefits:

    • Generous Time Off: 3 weeks vacation and 12 sick days earned per year, 3 personal days
    • Federal Holidays
    • Week between Christmas and New Year's Day
    • Weather related closings
    • Medical/Dental/Life Insurance
    • 401k with Employer Match
    • OSHA and Mandated Reporter Training
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
