    Descripción

    The Program Manager plays a key role in ensuring that quality programming is reproduced consistently and the tested curriculum is maintained in excellent working order for all Perry Outreach Program sites nationwide, by working closely with the Executive Director and Logistics Coordinator to plan and execute program logistics and maintain inventory and supplies. This key position maintains the behind-the-scenes operational excellence required to achieve the organization’s ambitious outreach goals. The Program Manager is the public point of contact for the organization and maintains positive relationships with all host site partners, volunteers, parents and students.

    This is a part-time position with flexible work hours at the pay rate of $25/hour. The Program Manager is expected to work 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Program Planning & Execution

    • Plan in-person and virtual outreach programs for students in high school and medical school.There are approximately 50 programs per year occurring nationwide.
    • Recruit qualified students for outreach programs and evaluate student applications using Perry Initiative’s admissions criteria.
    • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including but not limited to program hosts, students and parents, and Perry Initiative staff and volunteers
    • Coordinating closely with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure all equipment arrives at all program sites safely and in a timely manner.
    • Efficiently make travel arrangements for Perry Initiative staff, Fellows and volunteers who are traveling to program sites. This includes price optimizing flight, hotel, and other travel arrangements and tracking expenses against a provided budget.
    • Conduct post-program follow-ups with stakeholders to solicit feedback and boost program exposure and fundraising
    • Interface with contractors and other staff for website, social media, and other public relations issues. This may include generating some email, web, and social media content.

    Staff Supervision

    • Assist in recruiting Perry Initiative Fellows, who are individuals specifically trained to staff on-site programs
    • Create and maintain an atmosphere of collegiality and appreciation; plan and execute periodic acknowledgement events for volunteers

    Other

    • As requested, work with the Executive Director to develop new program curriculum, evaluate program effectiveness, and monitor student outcomes.
    • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all Program Manager responsibilities and those of direct reports.
    • Occasionally staff a program, either on-site or virtually. This will involve completing training on Perry Initiative program curriculum.
    • As requested, represent the organization at national conferences, trade shows, and other public events.

    Qualifications (Required):

    • Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering, education, communication, non-profit management, project management and/or STEM field of study.
    • Interest in science education and commitment to inclusivity and workforce development.
    • Excellent writing and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once.
    • Valid Driver’s License & willingness to operate a rental car.

    Qualifications (Preferred):

    • Experience working with/mentoring high school students and/or volunteer staff
    • Experience managing a business social media account and editing web content
    • Experience with customer relations management (CRM) software, e.g., SalesForce, Zoho, etc
    • Opening to traveling 5-6x annually to program sites and/or conferences
    • Received degree above bachelor’s in engineering, education, communication, non-profit management, project management and/or STEM field of study

    Physical Demands: requires sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, waist twisting, kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders, reaching up to shoulder height, lifting/pushing/pulling over 60 lbs., carrying up to 30 lbs., fine finger manipulation, simple/power grasp, repetitive hand/arm use, exposure to latex, ability to differentiate color, verbal communication.
