Newcomer Youth Summer Academy: Teaching & Instructional Leadership Opportunities

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is hiring educators and instructional leaders for multiple school‑based roles supporting Elementary, Middle, and High School students in New York through our Newcomer Youth Summer Academy. We’re looking for passionate educators, instructional leaders, and student mentors who want to make a real difference in the lives of young people. We are hiring for the following roles:

Elementary School:

• • Physical Education Teacher
  • Classroom Culture Lead Teacher
  • Academic Lead Teacher

Middle & High School:

• • Physical Education Teacher
  • Electives Teacher
  • Academic Lead Teacher – Math
  • Academic Lead Teacher – ESOL
  • Classroom Culture Lead Teacher

What You’ll Do:

• • Create engaging, inclusive, and student‑centered learning environments
  • Support academic growth and social‑emotional development
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively with a mission‑driven, supportive school team

(Responsibilities vary by role and grade level.)
