Campaign Associate

Activate America is a field-oriented Independent Expenditure organization that harnesses grassroots power to elect Democrats to the U.S. House and Senate, and to pressure vulnerable Republicans to stand up for their constituents. We connect individual volunteers and organizations with opportunities for direct voter contact through postcards, phone banking, texting, and canvassing.

We are looking for a talented, patient, and charismatic campaign associate with a customer service mentality and a “can-do” attitude to help expand and run our phonebank and texting programs, and to expand and manage our A-Team, which is our roster of groups that engage in our programming.

Job Description:

The Campaign Associate will run our phone banking and texting programs, and will work to expand and engage the A-Team. The ideal candidate will have at least one cycle of campaign and organizing experience, good writing skills, strong attention to detail, and a creative approach to grassroots civic engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading Zoom phone banks, including training new phone banking volunteers and providing technical assistance
• Writing phonebank scripts, including background research as necessary
• Leading Zoom textbanks, including writing scripts, training new texting volunteers, and providing technical assistance
• Identifying and recruiting additional A-Team groups
• Leading monthly meetings of A-Team leaders
• Scheduling engaging topics and training for A-Team meetings
• Developing and maintaining relationships with A-Team leaders to ensure that their groups are engaged
• Participate in staff and field meetings

Required Qualifications

• One or more cycles of electoral field organizing , including leading phonebanks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic, and desire for political change
• Self-starter, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Computer savvy- familiar with Excel, Google docs

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with EveryAction (or other CRM), Mobilize America, Scale to Win (or other calling and texting platforms)
• Graphics/design ability
• Social media prowess
• Spanish language

Most of our staff is based in California, but our volunteers are nationwide. We prefer that the Campaign Associate reside in California, but we are willing to consider strong candidates anywhere in the US.
