    Descripción

Courageous Parents Network (CPN) is a Boston-based national nonprofit dedicated to supporting families caring for children with serious, rare, and medically complex conditions. Through educational digital content, community-building, and thoughtful advocacy, CPN equips parents, clinicians, and caregivers with resources that strengthen resilience, communication, and compassionate decision-making.

CPN is seeking a passionate and mission-driven professional to lead our family education and engagement efforts. This role is central to our mission: you will be the bridge between CPN and the families we serve, ensuring our resources, programs, and advocacy efforts truly meet families' needs and amplify their voices.

The Director of Family Education and Engagement will focus on building meaningful relationships with families nationwide, developing accessible educational content, and creating multiple pathways for families to engage with CPN's life-changing resources and community.

    Job Responsibilities

      • Serve as the primary liaison to parents, caregivers, and family communities, maintaining active communications and fostering deeper engagement
      • Build and manage strategic partnerships with patient advocacy organizations, rare disease foundations, and community groups
      • Identify and engage new family communities and underserved populations
      • Represent CPN's mission and amplify family voices at conferences, symposiums, and virtual forums focused on pediatric illness, palliative care, and family caregiving
      • Develop and implement multi-platform engagement strategies across in-person events, online communities, social media, webinars, and virtual forums
      • Monitor engagement metrics and gather community feedback to continuously improve CPN's resources and programming effectiveness
      • Work with communications team to ensure consistent, family-centered messaging across all platforms and channels
      • Manage Associates responsible for social media, story curation, and parent champion program

This position serves as part of CPN’s Leadership Team, which is responsible for oversight of content development and marketing, and CPN’s Parent Champion program.

    Essential Qualifications

      • Lived experience with pediatric serious illness, rare disease, or palliative care strongly preferred
      • Exceptional relationship building skills with demonstrated cultural humility, emotional intelligence, and ability to connect with families from diverse backgrounds
      • Outstanding communication abilities including public speaking, empathetic listening, and clear written expression across multiple formats and platforms
      • Proven project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, work independently, and supervise others
      • Familiarity with digital engagement platforms, social media management, and virtual community building

    Personal Qualities

      • Deep commitment to family-centered care and advocacy
      • Resilience and emotional stability for working with families facing serious illness
      • Cultural competency and commitment to health equity
      • Flexibility and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and family engagement opportunities
      • Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences and community events

    What We Offer

The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families facing their most challenging moments, while building a career at the intersection of healthcare, education, and advocacy. You'll join a passionate team committed to ensuring no family faces serious pediatric illness alone.
