    Summary:

    OutYouth, a successful Austin non-profit with 35 years of experience supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, is seeking a full-time Group Therapist.

    The Group Therapist will provide group therapy services to school and internal groups, as well as individual, family, and youth counseling services. They will also participate in client screening and clinical case management.

    Compensation: $60,000-$65,000 annually based upon level of experience and licensure

    Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Hybrid

    Location: Austin, Texas, United States

    Classification: Exempt

    Reports To: Dalton Graham, School-Based Services Manager

    Direct Reports: None

    Travel: Frequent local travel within the Austin Metro area

    Work Hours:

    • Standard office days are Monday through Friday, but hours for this position may vary. The final schedule will be determined in coordination with the School-Based Services Manager.
    • School-based services are typically provided during the standard school day; however, some before-school, after-school, evening, or weekend hours may be required.
    • This position is hybrid, with the ability to work remotely.

    Essential Functions:

    • Provide individual psychotherapy, both teletherapy and in-person as health guidelines permit, including assessment, diagnosis (using the DSM-5-TR), and treatment planning, to support the mental health and well-being of school-aged youth ages 12 to 18.
    • Plan, coordinate, and deliver psychoeducational support groups.
    • Assist with the development and revision and oversee the implementation of various curricula addressing the needs of LGBTQIA+ youth.
    • Coordination and oversight of co-facilitators, including graduate student social work and/or counseling interns, assigned to groups in conjunction with the School-Based Service Coordinator and Clinical Director. Provide effective and timely coaching, feedback, and intervention to co-facilitators as needed.
    • Lead supply procurement and organization for the school program, including digital and physical materials for facilitators implementing various curricula on each of the campuses served.
    • Complete counseling screenings and clinical case management for services by phone or in-person with youth and young adults as part of our screening and referral team.
    • Lead specific trainings, pop-up events, and community events.
    • Track required information about individual and group counseling services as part of reporting requirements for grant-funded services.
    • Prepare and submit regular and timely documentation of services as required by funders and the Clinical Director.
    • Perform other activities and duties as directed by the School-Based Services Manager, including, but not limited to, providing additional clinical or social services.
    • Arrange and receive clinical supervision as required by licensure.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Must be computer literate, comfortable using technology in an office environment, and highly proficient in Google Workspace or similar productivity and collaboration tools.
    • Proficiency in EHR systems or client management systems.
    • Committed to the organization's mission of supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals.

    Required Education & Experience:

    • Master’s degree and State of Texas (BHEC) licensure as an LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, or LMSW.
    • Ability to work effectively with clients from a variety of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, and religious backgrounds.
    • Knowledgeable about gender identity, sexuality, as well as systems of privilege and oppression.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal direction and to meet deadlines.
    • Must be conscientious and detail-oriented.

    Preferred Education & Experience:

    • Master’s degree from a CACREP-accredited Graduate University and State of Texas (BHEC) full licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.
    • Two or more years of counseling or social service experience.
    • Experience collaborating with personnel in school settings and/or community agencies.
    • Experience in planning and facilitating therapeutic group activities.
    • Experience with or membership within the trans, queer, or gender non-binary community.

    Work Environment:

    • Indoor, climate-controlled office environment.
    • If working from home, you must have a private HIPAA-compliant workspace.

    Physical Demands:

    • Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
    • Frequent computer use at workstations for extended periods of time.
    • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

    • Must pass a criminal and motor vehicle violations background check.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.

    Work Authorization Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
