    WHO WE ARE

Born out of the legal efforts at JFK Airport during the Muslim Ban, Immigrant ARC has been growing exponentially since spinning out as a stand-alone non-profit over three years ago. During that time, we have been on the frontlines of responding to the Afghan evacuation, the reception of Ukrainian refugees, and welcoming recently arrived immigrants to New York City and New York State, all while strengthening and growing the immigration legal services field to increase immigrant New Yorker’s access to counsel and access to justice.

Our community includes over 80 legal service providers in New York State. We come together in solidarity with all New Yorkers who believe in fair and just immigration policies and who share our collective outrage at the injustices confronting immigrant communities. We use our knowledge of immigration law and practice to empower each other and the communities we serve to collectively fight systemic oppression and seek respect and dignity for all. We recognize that access to justice for immigrant communities is inextricably linked to the broader fight for racial justice. We commit to working alongside all others who are fighting to achieve a vision of a more just and equitable world.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Legal Technical Mentorship Sr. Associate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of I-ARC’s Legal Technical Mentorship (LTM) program in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Legal Technical Mentorship, this position supports core program functions, including coordination of referrals, facilitation of legal training logistics, communication amongst the Legal Service Centers (LSCs) network, and ensuring that LSCs have access to I-ARC’s legal resources and technical assistance network.

NOTE: This is a city contract-funded position. Renewal is contingent upon continued funding and organizational need, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years.

Specifically, the Legal Technical Mentorship Sr. Associate will:

    • Support Program Implementation: Work closely with the Senior Manager of Legal Technical Mentorship to implement the Legal Technical Mentorship (LTM) program. You will support the daily operations of the Legal Technical Mentorship (LTM) program, ensuring timely coordination and follow-through on programmatic activities.
    • Support Referral Management: Take the lead on supporting LSCs with their referral management systems ensuring that clients in need of specialized legal assistance are properly referred to the appropriate legal service providers, or I-ARC referral systems as necessary. This includes supporting the development of protocols, tracking potential referrals through I-ARC’s referral system (including follow-up), and serving as the primary contact for LSCs requiring specialized assistance.
    • Coordinate Training Logistics: Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of legal training and events for LSC staff, including session planning, trainer communications, participant outreach, and preparation of training materials. Ensure that sessions are accessible, well-organized, and responsive to the identified needs of LSC staff, in alignment with training goals and content developed by the Senior Manager.
    • Facilitate Connection to I-ARC Resources: Ensure that LSCs remain actively connected to I-ARC’s legal resource network, facilitating knowledge sharing through curated access to legal guides, templates, advisories, and peer-learning opportunities. You will work to ensure that LSCs are included in I-ARC listservs and meetings, allowing for collaboration, peer-to-peer learning, and mentorship opportunities.
    • Support Individualized Development Plans: Assist the Senior Manager of Legal Technical Mentorship in the creation and ongoing monitoring of Individualized Support & Development Plans for each LSC. You will help track progress against defined goals and milestones, providing regular updates and adjustments to ensure that LSCs are receiving the support they need.
    • Track and Report on Program Metrics: Help monitor program outcomes by tracking key metrics and surfacing insights such as training attendance, referral numbers, and progress towards the goals set out in LSC Development Plans. Provide regular reports to the Senior Manager, Legal Technical Mentorship and other stakeholders to inform the program and support continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate Communications with LSCs: Act as a point of contact between I-ARC, MOIA, and LSC staff to support clear and timely communication. Coordinate meetings, share relevant updates, and assist in troubleshooting day-to-day issues to ensure that LSCs remain informed about upcoming trainings, events, and available resources. This may include supporting the Senior Manager with biannual site visits.

    WHO YOU ARE

    • A Skilled Program Sr. Associate: You have at least 3 years of experience supporting programs, including handling logistics, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and organizing complex workflows. You are detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • An Excellent Communicator: You are skilled at communicating with a variety of stakeholders, including legal professionals, government agencies, and community-based organizations. You can build and maintain strong relationships, ensuring that everyone stays informed and connected.
    • A Problem Solver: You are comfortable troubleshooting issues that arise and can work independently to resolve challenges. You are proactive in addressing problems and finding innovative solutions to meet program goals.
    • Committed to Equity & Access: You are dedicated to I-ARC’s mission of increasing access to justice for immigrant New Yorkers, especially those who are low-income and face barriers such as limited English proficiency.
