    Program Director & Community Outreach Coordinator

    Hemophilia of Indiana (HOII)-onsite

    Location: Indianapolis (statewide travel required)

    Position Overview

    The Program Director & Community Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders across Indiana. This position leads patient-centered programs, coordinates statewide outreach initiatives, and serves as a key liaison between Hemophilia of Indiana (HOII) and clinical partners.

    This role is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who is passionate about community impact, program management, and advocacy.

    Key Responsibilities

    Patient Support & Advocacy

      • Serve as a primary liaison between HOII and Innovative Hematology, collaborating with social workers, nurses, and clinical staff to support coordinated patient care.
      • Manage the emergency financial assistance program, including application review and distribution of resources such as transportation, lodging, and essential needs support.
      • Coordinate patient services including Uber Health transportation and lodging for individuals traveling for care.
      • Administer the dental assistance program, including enrollment management and coordination with dental providers at Innovative Hematology.
      • Oversee the Medical ID program, ensuring timely processing and communication with patients and clinical teams.
      • Provide direct support and advocacy to patients and families, building trusted relationships across the community.

    Program & Camp Leadership

      • Coordinate planning and execution of Camp Brave Eagle, including logistics, onsite leadership, and participant communication.
      • Lead planning for Doug Thompson Teen Camp, supporting program development, logistics, and teen engagement initiatives.
      • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at Innovative Hematology to deliver safe, engaging, and impactful camp experiences.

    Scholarship Program Administration

      • Manage HOII scholarship programs, including application collection, organization, and coordination of review processes.
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for applicants, committee members, and partner organizations.
      • Ensure timely communication and accurate recordkeeping throughout the selection process.

    Educational Programming & Events

      • Partner with pharmaceutical organizations to coordinate statewide educational programs.
      • Plan and execute events, including venue selection, scheduling, patient outreach, and onsite facilitation.
      • Ensure programs are accessible across diverse geographic regions of Indiana.

    Community Outreach & Engagement

      • Serve as a visible and trusted representative of HOII within the bleeding disorders community.
      • Strengthen relationships with patients, families, and healthcare partners.
      • Promote awareness, education, and engagement opportunities statewide.
      • Support the organization’s mission through strategic, relationship-driven outreach.

    Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
      • Prior experience in program coordination, community outreach, healthcare, or nonprofit services.
      • Strong organizational and project management skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
      • Willingness to travel within Indiana and attend overnight camps/events as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience working with patients or families managing chronic or rare conditions.
      • Background in healthcare coordination, case management, or patient advocacy.
      • Event planning or camp program experience.

    Compensación

    This position comes with full dental benefits, a non-matching 401(k), and cell phone reimbursement. In addition, you will receive mileage reimbursement for in-state travel.
