    About the Organization

    Lotus Endowment Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) supporting foundation for The Sundari Foundation, Inc. and its initiatives, including the Lotus House Women’s Shelter, the largest women and children's homeless shelter in the country (www.lotushouse.org); the Children’s Village, an innovative collective impact education and resource center for children and families of Lotus House and the Overtown community; and other Lotus House initiatives, such as the establishment and growth of the National Women’s Shelter Network. Lotus Endowment Fund was established to secure the financial stability and long-term viability of the Sundari Foundation, to ensure Lotus House and its wide-ranging initiatives will serve as resources for women, children, and youth in need for generations to come.

    Position Summary

    The Director will serve as a key member of the Endowments’s leadership team, responsible for overseeing the organization’s operations, management, financial integrity, legal compliance, fundraising and capital campaigns, and property development initiatives. Working closely with the President, the Director will pursue a multi-faceted strategic plan to advance the Endowment’s mission and ensure long-term sustainability benefitting Lotus House and its wide-ranging initiatives to end and prevent homelessness.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee core business, property development initiatives, fundraising and capital campaigns, financial, operational and legal functions for the Endowment and its subsidiaries to ensure smooth, compliant day-to-day operations, achieve property development, capital campaign and fundraising objectives, and adherence to organizational policies, contracts, grants, reporting requirements and applicable legal requirements.
    • Oversee financial management of the Endowment including accounting, budgeting, reporting, payables/receivables, bank reconciliations, investments, annual audits, and coordination of tax filings, with the support of third party controllers/accountants.
    • Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts through capital campaigns, helping to prepare grant proposals and reports, donor meetings and presentations, and funder relations.
    • Assist in advancing the Endowment’s long-term strategic plan and future development projects, including coordinating project planning, timelines, budgets, financing, government approvals, and compliance.
    • Work closely with the President to support legal, governance, and risk-management functions that ensure smooth and compliant organizational operations.
    • Assist with preparation of Board of Directors materials, resolutions, reports, and meeting documentation to support effective board governance.
    • Manage required state registrations, permits, licenses, accreditations, and compliance documentation for the Endowment and its subsidiaries.
    • Support the Endowment’s community outreach, resource development, and public awareness initiatives; help build and maintain collaborative relationships with key community partners, stakeholders, and philanthropic organizations.
    • Assist in researching and developing social and public policy initiatives to help prevent and end homelessness.

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in the State of Florida required.
    • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, legal, real estate, finance, and/or executive management roles.
    • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Familiarity with nonprofit governance, real estate development, contracts, and regulatory frameworks preferred.
    • Commitment to the Endowment’s mission to uplift and empower women, youth, and children in need.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary range: $90,000-125,000+, commensurate with experience.
