    The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join the Experience and Transformation team. NAEYC is a professional membership organization that promotes high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. NAEYC advances a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.

    This position reports to the Director of Experience & Transformation and oversees the maintenance, growth, and effective use of NAEYC's Salesforce CRM, Fonteva AMS, and associated integrated platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone with a technical Salesforce or project management background who would like to transition into more of a Business Analyst professional. This role acts as the central point of contact between the business units and technical teams for the implementation of new software products, enhancements to business processes and existing systems, and effective administration of systems to make NAEYC operate as efficiently as possible. In collaboration with colleagues from around the organization, the incumbent also contributes to ensuring the overall integrity and health of the organization's data and contributes to additional enterprise projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Primary system administrator for NAEYC's Salesforce/Fonteva system; sets up and maintains appropriate roles, profiles, permissions, and access; manages all aspects of patch upgrades including creating acceptance criteria, composing test scripts, and deploying upgrades; maintains full awareness of upcoming system upgrades to properly identify and mitigate associated risks; manages integrations and APIs to ensure correct data is sent and/or received from connected applications
    • Manages vendor relationships related to NAEYC's Salesforce/Fonteva system and other enterprise systems; defines requirements and directs the work of vendors; oversees, monitors, and validates external vendors' work to confirm that it is implemented in accordance with requirements; manages vendor contracts and budgets to ensure that the work aligns with the contract and stays within budget
    • Partners closely with business teams to develop reports, product evaluations, and analyses to support their business outcomes
    • Works with internal and external system users, business departments, and NAEYC leadership to determine and document technology system needs, long-term strategy, and practical plans for ongoing enhancements
    • Takes responsibility for evaluating and recommending complementary technologies and/or solutions; supports the Director in the implementation new technology solutions
    • Participates in cross-functional transformation initiatives
    • Develops and maintains a technology transformation roadmap
    • In collaboration with IT Director, Data Analyst, and others, develops and maintains a data governance plan; monitors and cleans data as needed to ensure the health and effectiveness of systems.
    • Contributes to an enterprise data strategy
    • Owns internal and external system user success; sees team success as personal success
    • Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates risks and issues (technical and non-technical) associated with end user and stakeholder adoption of technology systems
    • Determines and documents initial and emergent user training needs; partners with business teams and NAEYC leadership to ensure the proper development and implementation of training resources.
    • Supports the organization's omnichannel customer experience initiatives

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
    • Salesforce Administrator Certification and/or additional Salesforce certification
    • 4+ years' experience leading ongoing process improvement and/or complex technology projects
    • 3+ years' experience as a technology product owner, business analyst, system architect, or related role
    • Proven experience in a non-profit/trade association work environment preferred
    • Experience using and/or administering Fonteva and/or other AMS
    • Experience with system integrations and API management
    • Project management certification (PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, or similar) preferred
    • Proven experience with business intelligence and analytics tools (Tableau, CRM Analytics, etc.)
    • Experience in generating process documentation, reports, and requirements
    • Thorough understanding of digital transformation and/or change management methodologies
    • Experience working for or with non-profit organizations and professional associations
    • A passion for delivering excellence to business partners to ensure user satisfaction
    • Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills-able to simplify complexity, drive alignment, effectively translate complex concepts to stakeholders inside and outside the organization
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues as required
    • Ability to travel occasionally in the United States for meetings and/or conferences

    Position Designation:

    Hybrid indicates that this role is based in the DC Metro Region and is required to physically be on-site in the DC office three day(s) a week. Employees are expected to minimally be in the office on Wednesday's unless otherwise determined by immediate supervisor and department leadership.
