    About Platform of Hope

    The Platform of Hope (POH) is a grassroots organization that partners with low-income families of color in Adams Morgan/Ward 1 to support holistic stability and community connection. Through a model that integrates housing, education, employment, health, and social capital, POH centers family voice, self-determination, and systems change. We are currently a fiscally sponsored grassroots organization.

    Position Summary

    The Operations & Development Coordinator is a vital part-time role that provides integrated support across fundraising, operations, and administrative functions. This position ensures the smooth functioning of POH’s hybrid work environment, manages procurement and contractor processes, leads event logistics, supports the Executive Director and Advisory Board, and assists in implementing fundraising strategies outlined in the FY26 Individual Giving Strategy for Platform of Hope. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a flexible hybrid setting and is deeply committed to community-centered work.

    Work Model

    This role follows POH’s hybrid work structure, requiring up to 2 scheduled in-person days per week at our DC office or for local meetings and events. The remaining hours are worked remotely. Occasional evening or weekend work is required for special events, board meetings, and donor cultivation activities.

    Key Responsibilities & Time Allocation

    Operations, Administration, & Finance (~65% )

    • Manage procurement & vendor relationships for all operational & program needs
      • Office and program supplies.
      • Software and digital service subscriptions (e.g., Zoom, website hosting, Google Workspace, CRM).
      • Other goods and services as required.
    • Oversee the full contractor process from draft to submission (upon ED approval) and invoicing for all organizational contractors.
    • Maintain and update the organization’s website
    • Facilitate smooth daily operations of the remote and in-office hybrid environment.
    • Organize and maintain shared digital systems (Google Workspace); regularly update internal sites, agendas, trackers .
    • Support staff hiring and onboarding processes.
    • Manage communications with consultants/contractors.
    • Provide direct administrative support to the Executive Director
    • Prepare and edit documents, presentations, and reports.
    • Maintain master contact lists for partners and vendors.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational effectiveness

    Fundraising, Development, & Event Execution (~ 35% )

    • Lead all fundraising and cultivation event logistics (e.g., Family Saturday donor tours, small group dinners) as defined in the FY25 Sprint Plan and FY26 Strategy, including:
      • Venue booking, vendor coordination, material preparation, and guest communication.
      • On-site coordination and management.
      • Execute post-event follow-up, including managing guest lists, coordinating with Communications Associate for sending thank-you notes and recap emails, tracking attendee feedback, and logging donor touchpoints .
    • Support donor relationship management and communications for the Executive Director.
    • Support selection and maintenance of a CRM system for donor relations and stewardship tracking.
    • Participate in the implementation of the donor engagement cycle (ex. Support donor stewardship, research for cultivation).

    Candidate Qualifications

    Required

    • Must reside within commuting distance of Washington, DC.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in office management, procurement, or contractor/vendor management.
    • 1+ years of experience in event planning and logistics coordination.
    • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated experience with procurement systems, contract management, and invoice processing.
    • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Sites) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and proactively in a hybrid remote/in-person setting.

    • Current COVID-19 vaccination status.

    Preferred

    • Experience with donor CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Little Green Light, Salesforce).
    • Previous experience in nonprofit administration, operations, or fundraising support.
    • Familiarity with the Washington, DC philanthropic and social services landscape.
    • Experience with nonprofit budgeting or financial administration.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Hourly pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
    • Hours: 20 to 24 hours per week with a consistent hybrid schedule (1 day in office)
