    Position Title: Senior Project Manager: Engagement & Organizing, Hartford, New Haven and Middlesex Counties

    Reports To: Housing for All Project Director, The Housing Collective

    Works In Partnership With: Executive Director, Connecticut For All Justice Fund

    Location: Hybrid - Connecticut

    Status: Full-Time, Exempt

    Salary: $80,000, plus benefits

    About The Housing Collective

    The Housing Collective (HC) is a statewide backbone organization working to end homelessness and ensure equitable access to safe, stable, and affordable housing across Connecticut. HC brings together cross-sector partners, data, and strategy to drive systems change and advance housing solutions through collaboration, research, policy, and community engagement.

    HC operates several core initiatives, including the Opening Doors Initiative (ODI), the Centers for Housing Opportunity (CHO), and the Housing Innovation Lab (HIL). Together these initiatives support regional collaboration, strengthen housing systems, and build the capacity of communities and partners working toward housing stability and opportunity.

    The Housing Collective serves as the backbone for Housing for All, ensuring that residents and resident groups in rural and suburban communities can access tools, training, coaching, education, communications and other resources necessary to support their efforts to organize around and engage on housing issues in their communities.

    About Housing For All

    The Housing for All Network is a statewide network of local resident leaders and grassroots groups in rural and suburban towns across Connecticut working in their own communities to build support for housing. The network 1) supports local groups working on housing issues on the ground with tools and resources responsive to locally expressed needs; and 2) works with local groups across communities to communicate a shared message that builds public will for housing across the state.

    Position Overview

    The Senior Project Manager for Engagement & Organizing in Hartford, New Haven and Middlesex Counties will serve as a key leader with the Housing for All Network, responsible for engaging and organizing residents in rural and suburban communities in these regions. The role will focus on building and strengthening a network of local resident leaders, grassroots groups, and community partners working to advance housing solutions in rural and suburban communities across central Connecticut.

    This position is an employee of The Housing Collective and reports directly to the Housing for All Director.

    The work of the Senior Project Manager on the ground in Hartford, New Haven and Middlesex Counties will be executed in close partnership with the Executive Director of Connecticut For All Justice Fund, who brings deep expertise in community organizing and coalition strategy and provides guidance on organizing approach, campaign alignment, and engagement with coalition partners.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Regional Network Development

    • Develop and maintain regional and state lists of local residents, resident groups and organizations working on housing issues.
    • Connect groups and organizations within and across regions to foster collaboration and mutual learning.
    • Assess training, organizing, and capacity building needs of local groups in rural and suburban towns across central CT
    • Develop and deliver training for local and regional partners statewide.
    • Connect local groups with training, tools, and technical assistance through the Housing For All Network
    • Support local groups in rural and suburban communities across Hartford, New Haven, and Middlesex Counties in strengthening their organizing capacity by: developing meeting agendas, campaign planning, 1 on 1 coaching, and other identified approaches.
    • Connect CTFA organizations to local groups and organizations engaged in Housing for All solutions.

    Project management:

    • Develop and maintain project plans, work plans, outcome reporting, timelines, and deliverables for assigned initiatives.
    • Keep accurate records of engagement and activities with local partners.
    • Track task assignments and follow-through, ensuring clarity around roles, deadlines, and expectations.
    • Coordinate meetings, schedules, agendas, and documentation to ensure smooth collaboration.
    • Maintain project documentation, outcome reporting, notes, and knowledge-management systems.

    Qualifications

    Core competencies for this role include leadership, relationship building, project management, training and resource support . The ideal candidate will have both project management and on the ground program experience engaging and coordinating multiple partners, stakeholders, residents and groups working in local communities on housing related issues. Specifically, qualifications for the role include:

    • 5+ years of experience in organizing, housing or community development sectors.
    • Demonstrated experience in project management and cross-team coordination.
    • Knowledge and understanding of community organizing and engagement strategies.
    • Experience partnering across teams to integrate community feedback into strategy, program design, and continuous improvement.
    • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven environment.
    • Proficient in project management tools and data tracking systems.

    This role requires regular travel throughout central Connecticut and occasional statewide travel for convenings and training. Evening and weekend work will periodically be required to support community meetings.
