    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator is responsible for actively supporting the fund development and cultivation activities of WAM. The successful candidate will assist with outlining and drafting grant proposals, researching and soliciting in-kind donations, recording donations in WAM’s databases (Salesforce), follow up and stewardship of individual donors, event support, and managing a pipeline of institutional funding requests that make up a significant portion of WAM’s revenue. Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail oriented, highly organized, and have experience using databases such as Salesforce and other sources to research and track grants and prospects. The successful applicant will be someone who is passionate about our mission of advancing women/girls/gender-expansive individuals in the fields of music, media, and technology, and excited to work with a fast-paced, growing, mission-driven non-profit organization. This is a full-time, exempt position.

    Primary Objectives and Responsibilities

    • Creates rough outlines of all grant proposals - getting the questions, portal information, guidelines in a working document, and drafts portions of the proposals in collaboration with Development team
    • Researches and solicits in-kind donations such as food, wine and other items to support WAM’s fundraising events
    • Enters all donations, grant awards, grant agreements, reporting deadlines, etc. into Salesforce
    • Stewards all individual donations making sure they are properly thanked and engaged by creating/mailing thank you cards, inviting them to events, etc.
    • Supports planning & logistics of fundraising events
    • Provides support with other administrative tasks related to development and fundraising activities as needed

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or a related area.
    • 1-3 years non-profit or development experience and/or related experience is required.
    • A high level of computer literacy required, including familiarity with Salesforce, Google Workspace/G Suite, Foundation Center databases, Grant Portals, Guidestar and Microsoft Office programs.
    • Candidates must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
    • Excellent research, organizational and communications skills.
    • High energy, positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, initiative and attention to detail.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Salesforce and Instrumentl
    • Experience specific to nonprofits, the arts, and/or STEM/STEAM fields.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, work and travel from one location to another.
    • Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
    • Prolonged periods working on a computer.
    • Communicating with others to exchange information.
    • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
