    ABOUT LIVE OUT LOUD

For 25 years, Live Out Loud has empowered LGBTQAI+ youth to become leaders and advocates through education, mentorship, and leadership development. We partner with schools to provide programs that explore LGBTQ+ history, current issues, and the importance of equity, inclusion, and belonging. Our workshops help students build confidence, strengthen their voices, and develop the skills to advocate for themselves and others.

    ROLE OVERVIEW

The Part-Time Program Facilitator is Live Out Loud's primary presence in the Bronx responsible for building and maintaining school partnerships, facilitating workshops, and ensuring LGBTQ+ youth have access to affirming, high-quality programming. This role requires strong community instincts, excellent facilitation skills, and a deep commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and empowerment.

    SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

    • Actively identifies and pursues new school partnerships within the assigned borough through direct outreach, community connections, and relationship building.
    • Serves as Live Out Loud's primary relationship holder within the borough and owns school contacts from first outreach through ongoing program delivery.
    • Cultivates trust with school administrators, counselors, and teachers to deepen existing partnerships and expand program reach within each school.
    • Brings new school opportunities and partnership leads to the Sr. Program Manager for approval before making commitments.
    • Actively coordinates all Bronx program activities in concert with The School Program.

    PROGRAM FACILITATION

    • Facilitates workshops and programming within the assigned borough.
    • Delivers sessions ranging from 60 minutes to 2 hours following established curriculum and lesson plans.
    • Visits each school on a consistent cadence — typically once per month or every other week based on the school's preference.
    • Prepares materials and sets up and breaks down program spaces for each session.
    • Represents Live Out Loud professionally at every school touchpoint, modeling the org's values and approach in every interaction.

    CURRICULUM & WORKSHOP DEVELOPMENT

    • Designs and updates Live Out Loud's annual School Program curriculum, creating engaging workshops and lesson plans for implementation from October through June.
    • Develops age-appropriate content tailored to both middle school and high school audiences.
    • Creates an SEL-based curriculum that builds leadership, communication, advocacy, and community action skills — empowering LGBTQ+ youth and allies to strengthen their voices, foster inclusion, navigate interpersonal relationships, and make a positive impact.
    • Serves as a liaison with NYC DOE partners to support the design and facilitation of GSA Advisor Town Halls.
    • Supports all post-event documentation including attendance tracking, program reporting, compiling participant surveys, and coordinating partner follow-ups.

    OUTREACH & SCHOOL RECRUITMENT

    • Develops and executes an annual school recruitment and retention plan, engaging current and prospective school partners to ensure strong participation and program growth for the following academic year.

    REPORTING & COMMUNICATION

    • Submits session notes, attendance records, and participation data to the Sr. Program Manager after each visit.
    • Captures photos and stories from the field with appropriate media releases in place and contributes to the social media process using established templates.
    • Communicates school cancellations, scheduling changes, or concerns promptly to the Sr. Program Manager.
    • Participates in weekly team meetings and all required training, including PII training and role model session training.

    SUMMER DEBRIEF & PLANNING

    • Participates in end-of-year debrief with the Sr. Program Manager to reflect on the school year, share observations, and contribute to program improvement planning.
    • Supports curriculum and materials development and preparation for the upcoming school year.
    • Uses reduced program schedule to complete any outstanding documentation, session notes, or reporting from the prior school year.
    • Conducts focused research on new schools in the assigned borough, building a prioritized outreach list.
    • Executes a proactive outreach plan to introduce Live Out Loud to new schools and reconnect with existing contacts ahead of the fall.
    • Contributes borough-specific insights to the team's broader fall outreach plan.
    • Enters the fall with new partnerships in progress, returning relationships confirmed, and materials ready.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 2+ years of experience in program facilitation, youth development, or education.
    • Experience working in or with NYC public schools strongly preferred.
    • Excellent facilitation and group engagement skills across mixed youth audiences.
    • Strong community connections within the Bronx a plus.
    • Deep commitment to LGBTQ+ equity, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
    • Ability to work independently and manage a borough-level program schedule.
    • Reliable, organized, and comfortable with documentation and reporting.
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or related field preferred.
