At Home in Alexandria (AHA) was founded by Alexandrians in 2011 to help seniors live independently in their own residences by providing support services and social activities. We are a membership-based organization committed to helping older Alexandrians successfully navigate aging by sharing activities, programs, and services, including access to needed assistance. AHA is proud to be part of the wider village network in the Washington area now including 79 villages in operation or development in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia—and part of a fast-growing nationwide village network. AHA serves most of the geographic area of the City of Alexandria, VA. Our dedicated team of three part-time staff and volunteers works closely with our members to support these goals.
AHA is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our next phase of growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with proven skills in fundraising, team leadership, and community engagement. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for strategic and operational oversight of the organization including alignment with the strategic plan set by the Board of Directors. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to balance big picture strategy with day-to-day management. This position is for approx. 30 hours/week.
