    The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Director to lead and enhance our internal people operations. This senior leadership role is ideal for an HR professional who combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, someone motivated by building an inclusive, compliant, and high-performing workplace in service of a powerful mission.

    Who We Are

    The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) is the nonprofit membership organization for the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Systems and Client Assistance Programs (CAP) serving people with disabilities nationwide. Collectively, the P&A System is the nation’s largest provider of legal advocacy for people with disabilities, advancing civil and human rights through systemic advocacy, litigation, and policy reform.

    About the Role

    As NDRN’s senior HR leader, you will shape the employee experience and strengthen organizational infrastructure by overseeing all aspects of Human Resources, from recruitment and employee relations to policy development, compliance, and training. The senior HR leader will provide leadership, facilitation, and support to NDRN staff and will partner closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership team to prioritize, develop, and deliver people strategies and programs that strengthen organizational culture and support effective, mission-driven performance.

    This role offers the opportunity to build strong partnerships, train and support organizational leadership, and ensure HR operations remain smooth, compliant and effective. This role is essential to ensuring that a mission-driven workforce is supported, engaged, and equipped to carry out impactful national work.

    What You Will Do:

    • Lead and continuously improve all HR operations in support of NDRN’s mission and staff.
    • Develop and implement clear, effective HR policies, procedures, and people practices.
    • Monitor and interpret employment laws, especially those related to disability rights, to ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
    • Direct recruitment and hiring efforts, ensuring a smooth and consistent process for candidates and managers.
    • Design and deliver training that supports managers in building effective leadership and people management skills.
    • Provide steady, solutions-focused guidance to supervisors on employee relations, performance planning and development, and conflict resolution.
    • Oversee compensation and benefits programs and support thoughtful, equitable salary planning.
    • Collaborate with legal counsel when needed to navigate complex HR matters.

    What We Are Looking For

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
    • 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including strong experience inemployee relations.
    • Broad knowledge of HR areas such as compensation, performance management, organizational development, and employment law.
    • Familiarity with disability employment laws (or enthusiasm for developing that expertise).
    • Strong ability to design and deliver effective training.
    • HR certification strongly preferred (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
    • Excellent relationship-building skills and a collaborative approach.
    • Comfortable engaging and working effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to manage and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Genuine interest in and commitment to NDRN’s mission.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000
