Our team collaborates with neighborhood residents to deliver culturally grounded, multigenerational programming.

    Position Overview

The Community Wellness Education and Engagement Manager leads all aspects of The GrowHaus’ dynamic and community-led education and outreach programs. This role requires a high level of energy, passion for community-based work, and a commitment to innovation. This role builds capacity for the Director of Community Programs and Engagement through strong project management skills, effective delegation, and team leadership experience. This position oversees participant recruitment and community relationship-building and is responsible for the department's day-to-day decisions and programmatic direction. This position will collaborate closely with their supervisor, the Director of Community Programs and Engagement, to support the department’s growth and align program goals with The GrowHaus' strategic direction.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Oversight & Development

    • Manage day-to-day operations of youth, adult, and multigenerational education programs, including resolving issues as they arise.
    • Support program planning, curriculum development, culturally responsive facilitation models, and cooking classes for community members and outside clients.
    • Ensure that program deliverables, goals, and timelines are consistently met across education and outreach work.
    • Coordinate logistics, set timelines, order materials, plan field trips, and recruit guest speakers.
    • Oversee outreach efforts for all community programs.
    • Supervise SNAP outreach and enrollment activities led by the Specialist Promotora, ensuring alignment with program goals and compliance requirements.
    • Maintain and grow relationships with participants, families, and community partners.
    • Ensure programs are aligned with community priorities and responsive to participant feedback.

    Staff Management & Team Development

    • Develop team work plans and supervise facilitators, Promotoras, interns, and part-time staff.
    • Determine staffing needs and schedules to ensure program goals are met.
    • Support the Program Director with recruitment and hiring for departmental roles in collaboration with HR, and oversee onboarding, evaluation, and offboarding processes.
    • Lead team meetings and trainings in curriculum development, nutrition education, teaching techniques, and public speaking to build staff capacity and confidence.
    • Collaborate with the Director to develop staff work plans and professional development goals, while also engaging in continued professional growth and learning.
    • Foster a supportive, mission-aligned, and accountable team culture.
    • Promote equitable practices and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive work environment.
    • Manage programs start to finish, including setting timelines, staffing needs, and resolving issues as they arise, in collaboration with the Director of Community Programs.

    Outreach & Community Engagement

    • Lead participant recruitment strategies for all educational programs.
    • Strategically connect with potential community partners that align with The GrowHaus’ goals and capacity.
    • Coordinate regular community visibility efforts and represent The GrowHaus at events, schools, and partner sites to build awareness and trust.

    • Support program visibility and the organization's presence as a culturally responsive leader in wellness education.
    • Build strategic relationships with partners to advance The GrowHaus’ strategic goals.

    Evaluation & Administrative Duties

    • Track participation and support the use of evaluation tools to assess impact.
    • Contribute to grant reporting and create reports to share key program metrics with the Director.
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation; ensure program activities align with leadership goals, grant commitments, and department targets; and oversee accurate, timely data collection in coordination with the Development team to support grant compliance and reporting.
    • Support ongoing program evaluation for continuous improvement.

    • Actively contributes to team growth through supervision and mentorship.
    • Confident in navigating digital tools, including Google Workspace, to support program planning and delivery with proven organizational skills to create systems that ease workload rather than adding burden.
    • Brings some understanding of the concepts of food justice, community education, and community health, and is invested in personal and professional growth in these areas.
    • Committed to building community relationships in both English and Spanish, with fluency in both languages.
    • Experience collaborating across organizational departments and supporting other departments' work when needed.
