About Texas For All and Texas For All Education Fund

Texas For All is the 501(c)(4) electoral and alignment table in Texas. We are a group of organizations working together across movements, issues, and geographies to drive coordinated member education, planning, messaging, and strategies to achieve a multiracial democracy where all Texans—regardless of race, place, or background—have the freedom to reach their full potential.

Texas For All Education Fund is the 501(c)(3) table working to build a democracy in which all Texans are represented, engaged, and thriving. Through education and advocacy, we champion a shared vision for Texas and equip, unite, and mobilize Texans to lead meaningful change.

Our c(3) and c(4) entities complement each other to strengthen the progressive ecosystem in Texas. Together, we:

    • Build Power: Coordinate and amplify the efforts of member organizations, ensuring sustainable leadership and progress across issues such as protecting access to abortion, advancing climate justice, fighting for civil rights, and securing the freedom to vote.
    • Engage Communities: Lead and support community engagement to reaffirm and strengthen a shared vision for Texas.
    • Champion Progressive Policy: Co-create and fight for a policy agenda that moves Texas toward a more just and equitable future.
    • Shift Narratives: Research, test, and align member organizations around shared narratives that unite Texans and tell a more complete story of the state.

    About the Position

The Texas for All Community Captain Program is a transformative, year-round civic engagement and base-building strategy designed to shift voter behavior and community culture in Texas’s most critical areas. By rooting voter engagement in trusted community members, this program builds political power where it has been historically underinvested and underorganized. Organizers are at the heart of this effort — identifying, training, and supporting community-based Captains who will lead neighborhood-level civic engagement and community building.

Organizers will recruit and support community leaders, host community events, build relationships with organizational partners and support all voter contact outreach efforts within their geographies. Organizers are responsible for ensuring community leaders are equipped with the tools, data, skills, and support to build lasting local power while meeting voter contact and community engagement goals. This is a highly relational role that requires excellent people skills, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to building long-term grassroots power in Texas.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Participation in community organizing tactics like canvassing/door-knocking, phonebanking, hot spotting etc.
    • Recruit and onboard Block Captains from target precincts.
    • Build strong, trusting relationships with volunteer leaders rooted in the community.
    • Provide regular coaching, training, and mentorship to help captains succeed.
    • Hold regular meetings (one-on-one and group) with Block Captains to provide updates, training, and accountability.
    • Distribute voter lists, scripts, materials, and other resources.
    • Track Block Captain progress on voter contact goals, relationship-building, and community events.
    • Manage and report on Block Captain activities in VAN and other tracking systems. Ensure accurate data entry and documentation of voter contacts, events, and outreach.
    • Host regular community events (e.g., block parties, neighborhood gatherings, mutual aid events).
    • Support digital outreach tactics and strategies that respond to the overall goals of the Block Captain program and political landscape..
    • Use data to evaluate progress, adjust strategies, and celebrate wins.
    • Work collaboratively with Texas for All coalition partners and local organizations to align program goals with community priorities.
    • Represent the organization in local community spaces and organizational meetings.

    Qualifications

    • At least 2 years of organizing experience, preferably in electoral, community, or issue-based campaigns.
    • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers or grassroots leaders.
    • Strong relational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop leaders.
    • Experience working with voter contact tools (VAN, miniVAN, etc.) preferred.
    • Strong commitment to racial, economic, and gender justice and building multiracial working-class power.
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned geography.
    • Spanish fluency language highly preferred

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive salary between $55,000 and $60,000, based on experience.
    • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Paid time off, sick leave, and holidays.
    • Professional development opportunities.
