    This position is part-time (20 hours a week) with a hybrid, largely remote work setup. Hourly rate of $27 per hour, or the part-time equivalent of a full-time salary of $56,160 per year.

    Potomac Conservancy is the region’s leading clean water advocate, dedicated to ensuring the Potomac River is healthy, protected, and thriving for the communities and wildlife that depend on it. We mobilize people and partners to conserve land, advocate for clean water policies, and clean up local shorelines to restore our nation’s river. With a collaborative and mission-driven team, we combine grassroots engagement with strategic advocacy to achieve measurable results that protect the Potomac and its riverside communities.

    Position Overview

    The Corporate Relations Manager will drive Potomac Conservancy’s efforts to secure and steward brand-aligned corporate partnerships in the greater Washington, DC area. This role focuses on elevating the organization’s visibility, credibility, and supporter base through corporate employee engagement and co-branded marketing opportunities. The Manager will be supervised by the VP of Communications. They will be responsible for delivering $100,000 in renewed and new partnerships in Year 1, while ensuring brand consistency, mission alignment, and measurable impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Strategy & Planning (15%)
    • Refine a plan to identify, cultivate, and secure brand-aligned corporate partners.
    • Align partnership efforts with our organizational mission, values, and conservation and marketing goals.
    • Research and identify potential new strategic corporate marketing partners.
    • Work regularly with the Development and Communications teams to foster cross-team brainstorming and ensure alignment across campaigns and messaging.
    • Collaborate and assist communications staff in the creation of co-branded digital copy, merchandise, and materials supporting our corporate partnerships.
    1. Outreach, Relationship Building and Stewardship (35%)
    • Initiate thoughtful, tailored outreach to corporate prospects through emails, calls, and networking.
    • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key brand and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) decision-makers.
    • Represent the organization professionally at events and partnership meetings (virtual or local).
    • Deliver high-quality stewardship for existing partners, including impact reports, recognition, and relationship touchpoints.
    1. Proposal Development & Pitching (45%)
    • Create compelling partnership proposals, pitch decks, and presentations.
    • Seek priority sponsorships for our annual spring fundraiser, fall charity kayak race, volunteer cleanup programs, and other special opportunities.
    • Develop co-brand marketing opportunities and campaigns with new and existing corporate sponsors.
    • Lead timely proposal strategies for fall corporate sponsorship pitches and spring-summer program sponsorship pitches.
    • Customize opportunities based on each company’s goals (e.g., brand visibility, employee engagement, sustainability alignment).
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align expectations and ensure smooth implementation.
    1. Administration & CRM Tracking (5%)
    • Maintain records of all partnership interactions in our CRM system.
    • Keep Potomac Conservancy corporate partnership website and materials current.
    • Maintain partner logo materials and terms for use.
    • Track hours, communications, and deliverables in coordination with supervisor.
    • Light administrative duties including timesheets, invoicing.

    Experience & Skills

    • Demonstrated experience in corporate partnerships, nonprofit brand marketing, and/or cause-based marketing.
    • Success with securing and stewarding corporate sponsorships or partnerships with a nonprofit and/or environmental organization.
    • Strong marketing and communications skills, including the ability to create compelling proposals and co-branded campaigns.
    • Experience managing multiple partnerships simultaneously and delivering measurable results.
    • Familiarity with CRM systems and partnership tracking tools; EveryAction experience a plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to represent the organization externally.

    Compensación

    • Largely remote work with occasional in-office meetings in our downtown Bethesda, MD office. Occasional local travel. Meetings with partners must be in person as much as possible.
    • Travel reimbursement for work-related trips; excludes commuting to the office.

    • Part-time employees have the option to participate in our 403b retirement savings program with a 3% match from Potomac Conservancy
    • As a part-time employee, this position does not include health benefits or paid time off.

    Note, Potomac Conservancy's offices will be moving from Silver Spring, MD to downtown Bethesda, MD by February 1, 2026.
