HabitatMap is a nonprofit that builds tools to help communities measure and fight air pollution. Through the AirBeam and the AirCasting platform, HabitatMap empowers residents, advocates, and researchers to collect and share air quality data that drives environmental awareness and change.

About the Role

HabitatMap is seeking a creative Videographer to produce short-form video content showcasing the power and impact of the AirBeam. This role will focus on capturing compelling visuals of the AirBeam in action and transforming scripts into engaging, story-driven videos that inspire people to learn about and purchase the AirBeam and utilize the AirCasting platform.

Working closely with HabitatMap’s Community Manager and communications team, the videographer will help bring stories about community air monitoring and environmental advocacy to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality b-roll and footage of the AirBeam in action, including real-world use collecting air quality data.
• Collaborate with the Community Manager to translate scripts into compelling visual storytelling.
• Produce 30–90 second videos designed for social media, website use, and digital campaigns.
• Film demonstrations of how the AirBeam works and how people use it to measure pollution in their communities.
• Edit video content, including color correction, sound design, captions, and graphics when needed.
• Help conceptualize video formats that make environmental data visual, accessible, and engaging.
• Ensure all content aligns with HabitatMap’s mission of empowering communities through air quality monitoring.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in videography, video production, and video editing.
• Strong portfolio of short-form video content (especially for social media or digital storytelling).
• Ability to capture clean, compelling b-roll and environmental footage.
• Experience editing with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
• Ability to collaborate with non-technical teams to translate scripts and concepts into visual narratives.
• Strong attention to visual storytelling and pacing for short-form videos (30–90 seconds).
• Interest in or understanding of environmental issues, air quality, or community science is a plus.
• Familiarity with HabitatMap’s mission and tools, including the AirBeam and AirCasting platform, is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience creating product demonstration videos
• Motion graphics or simple data visualization skills
• Experience producing content for nonprofit or advocacy organizations

Deliverables

• Short-form videos (30–90 seconds)
• B-roll library of the AirBeam being used in real-world environments
• Edited video assets optimized for social media and web

Compensation

$30 per hour

Contract length: 6 months with potential to expand
