    Position Overview

This is a hands-on, part time role (8-10 hours/week) that is ideal for a development professional who enjoys both strategy and execution in a small, highly collaborative organization. The Fundraising Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong donor relationships, stewarding supporters, and managing key fundraising events and campaigns to raise financial support. This role works closely with the Program Assistant, volunteer Directors of Operations, Director of Programs, and Board members to grow philanthropic support and broaden awareness of our mission. We have a robust fundraising plan with established events and campaigns that need nurturing and expansion.

    About the Organization

Guatemala Village Health is a Seattle-based nonprofit working in partnership with rural Mayan communities in Guatemala to improve health by expanding access to healthcare, health education, health worker training, and scholarships. Our holistic approach also includes public health projects (water filters, composting toilets, smokeless stoves), and improved nutrition through nutritional supplements and permaculture farming. Through our grassroots programs and volunteer partnerships, we serve some of the most underserved areas in the Western Hemisphere and work to improve health, resilience and long-term well-being.

    Core Responsibilities

    Donor Relations & Fundraising

    • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and supporters; cultivate, solicit and steward gifts with a focus on annual giving and major gift potential through our Circle of Caring membership.
    • Support strategies for corporate, foundation and community fundraising, including assistance in writing grants.
    • Maintain accurate donor records and reporting using the organizations donor CRM database (CiviCRM).

    Events & Campaigns

    • Supervise and assist in the planning and execution of major fundraising events and campaigns such as the annual auction, Circle of Caring stewardship events, house parties and community engagement events.
    • Coordinate board and volunteer participation in fundraising activities.
    • Support digital and year-end giving strategies, donor communications and appeals.

    Constituent Engagement & Stewardship

    • In partnership with Seattle staff and board members, develop communications and stewardship touchpoints (updates, reports, thank-you outreach, impact stories).
    • Collaborate with staff and board to expand visibility and engagement through newsletters, social media and community partnerships.
    • Represent the organization at events and speaking engagements, as appropriate.
    • Ensure donors receive timely personalized acknowledgements and impact updates throughout the year.

    Collaboration & Administration

    • Work cross-functionally to align development work with programs and organizational priorities.
    • Partner with Guatemala-based organization staff to translate program impact into donor-facing content and proposals.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit events, donor outreach, communications or related work. Experience in a small non-profit setting is a plus.
    • Strong relationship-building skills and a donor-centric mindset.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and move work forward in a small, dynamic team.
    • Strong writing, communication and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with digital fundraising tools a plus.
    • Commitment to the mission and values of community health, equity and international partnership.
    • Previous Global Health experience is a plus, but not required.

    Additional Details

    • This is a part-time position 8-10 hours per week which could grow to half-time if fundraising is successful
    • Occasional evenings/weekends for events.
    • Hybrid or remote work possible; periodic local travel for events and donor engagement.

    Compensación

This is a part‑time hourly role and does not include a traditional benefits package. The schedule is flexible and can be arranged around other professional or personal commitments. This role is ideal for someone who is financially flexible and motivated by humanitarian outcomes.

The position offers the opportunity to apply fundraising expertise in support of a small, nimble global health nonprofit working alongside rural Mayan communities in Guatemala, with close collaboration with board and program leaders.
