    Organization Overview

At Literacy Academy Collective (LAC), we believe access to literacy and high-quality instruction is the most pressing Civil Rights issue in New York City. Our mission is to build and support a network of NYCPS schools that allow children with dyslexia, language-based learning disabilities (LBLDs), and other struggling learners to achieve academic success. Following the success of our South Bronx and Central Brooklyn sites, we are expanding our instructional leadership team to ensure rigorous, evidence-based math instruction across our network.

Here is the consolidated, one-page draft for the Math Program Supervisor. This version balances the high-level math pedagogy you require with the rigorous organizational and collaborative expectations of your network.

    Role Overview

The Math Program Supervisor is a strategic leadership role responsible for the fidelity, execution, and integration of math instruction across the Literacy Academy Collective (LAC) network. You will ensure that students with language-based learning disabilities (LBLDs) receive explicit, systematic math instruction while managing the operational systems that allow our schools to thrive.

    Key Responsibilities

    I. Instructional Leadership & Math Pedagogy

    • Pedagogical Oversight: Ensure all math instruction adheres to the Science of Math and explicit, multisensory frameworks.
    • High-Leverage Coaching: Lead non-evaluative coaching cycles (observation, feedback, modeling) to drive teacher growth and student achievement.
    • Curriculum Adaptation: Partner with the Math Consultant to adapt curricula with necessary language scaffolds and Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) sequences.
    • Professional Development: Design and facilitate network-wide PD that translates complex math concepts into actionable classroom strategies.

II. Program Operations & Systems Management

    • Project Management: Own the math implementation roadmap, including timelines, resource allocation, and instructional calendars for both sites.
    • Data Ecosystem Management: Lead the collection and analysis of math assessment data; translate data into flexible student groupings and instructional pivots.
    • Logistical Coordination: Independently manage a complex, multi-site schedule, ensuring consistent leadership presence in both the Bronx and Brooklyn.
    • Institutional Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of coaching, curriculum iterations, and network progress for the Director of Instruction.

    III. Strategic Collaboration & Integration

    • Literacy Partnership: Work daily with LAC Program Supervisors (Literacy) to align executive functioning supports and language scaffolds across subjects.
    • Leadership Alignment: Partner with School Principals and the Director of Instruction to ensure math goals are woven into the broader school culture.
    • Network Synergy: Actively contribute to instructional leadership meetings to ensure cross-functional alignment and shared problem-solving.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education & Certification: Master’s Degree in Math Education, Special Education, or School Leadership.
    • Pedagogical Mastery: Minimum 5 years of teaching with deep expertise in Explicit Instruction and adapting math for students with LBLDs.
    • Leadership Track Record: At least 2–3 years in an administrative or supervisory role (e.g., Dean, Dept. Chair) with experience managing systems and schedules.
    • Organizational Excellence: Proven ability to manage complex projects and data sets across multiple locations.
    • Collaborative Mindset: A "team-first" orientation with the ability to navigate feedback from multiple stakeholders (Principals, Consultants, Directors).

    • Generous paid time off, including holidays and a flexible vacation policy
    • Monthly wellness stipend
    • Health, dental, and vision insurance
