    Descripción

    The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer, providing strategic leadership and oversight of Mediation Matters’ operations, finances, programs, and community engagement activities. The ED will champion anti-racism initiatives, fundraising efforts, restorative justice programs, and—if qualified—training services, ensuring alignment with the organization’s values and mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Anti-Racism and Equity:
      • Advance organizational commitments to anti-racism through proactive policy development, equitable practice implementation, and ongoing evaluation.
      • Facilitate and support continuous training and dialogue on anti-racism, equity, inclusion, and cultural competency.
      • Address systemic inequities within the organization, programs, and community interactions.
    2. Leadership and Strategic Planning:
      • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
      • Foster an inclusive organizational culture that values collaboration, equity, and continuous improvement.
      • Ensure programmatic alignment with community needs, organizational capacity, and strategic goals.
    3. Fundraising and Financial Management:
      • Lead comprehensive fundraising strategies, including grant writing, donor cultivation, special events, and corporate sponsorships.
      • Oversee annual budget preparation, financial planning, and fiscal accountability.
      • Maintain strong relationships with current funders and cultivate new sources of financial support.
    4. Community Engagement and Partnerships:
      • Build strategic relationships with community-based organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
      • Represent Mediation Matters at community events, meetings, and forums to enhance visibility and advocacy.
      • Direct marketing and communications initiatives to elevate organizational visibility and impact.
    5. Restorative Justice and Mediation Services:
      • Oversee the design and implementation of restorative justice and mediation programs tailored to diverse community needs.
      • Collaborate effectively with schools, judicial systems, law enforcement, and community groups to embed restorative practices.
      • Ensure services are culturally responsive, accessible, and impactful across all served communities.
    6. Training and Capacity Building (if applicable):
      • If a certified mediator and trainer, lead internal and external training sessions in conflict resolution and restorative practices.
      • Otherwise, collaborate with staff or external consultants to ensure robust training capacity within the organization.
    7. Operations and Program Management:
      • Oversee daily organizational operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality service delivery.
      • Provide direct supervision, professional development, and performance management for staff.
      • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, ethical, and industry standards.
    8. Board Relations:
      • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to develop strategic priorities, policies, and organizational governance.
      • Provide regular, transparent reporting on organizational performance, strategic developments, and operational challenges.
      • Support board development, recruitment, orientation, and engagement activities.
