    Issaquah, WA (Hybrid)

    Full-Time (40 hours/week)

    Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)

    Position Overview

    Recovery Beyond seeks a mission-driven and highly organized Development Manager to lead the execution and daily operations of the organization’s fundraising efforts. This full-time role is responsible for managing fundraising campaigns, donor systems, sponsorship relationships, and development operations that support sustainable revenue growth.

    The Development Manager will build reliable fundraising processes, strengthen donor engagement, and help create predictable revenue streams that allow Recovery Beyond to expand its impact.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both relationship-building and operational execution and wants to help build the fundraising infrastructure of a growing nonprofit.

    Recovery Beyond is a community for people in recovery from substance use through outdoor adventure, leadership development, and belonging. We remove financial and social barriers so individuals in recovery can experience challenge, connection, and purpose.

    As we grow, we are investing in fundraising capacity to ensure long-term sustainability and expanded access to our programs.

    Position Purpose

    This role exists to:

    • Execute the organization’s fundraising plan
    • Build consistent fundraising systems
    • Improve donor retention and engagement
    • Strengthen peer-to-peer fundraising efforts
    • Manage sponsorship relationships
    • Reduce reliance on informal fundraising processes

    The Development Manager focuses on execution, coordination, and relationship follow-through while partnering with the Executive Director on strategy and major donor development.

    Core Responsibilities

    Annual Fund & Individual Giving (25%)

    • Implement annual development plan
    • Manage donor pipeline and segmentation
    • Coordinate annual giving campaigns (e.g. appeals, year-end, giving days)
    • Draft donor communications and appeals
    • Track donor retention and engagement metrics
    • Support recurring donor growth strategies

    Goal: Strengthen individual giving and improve donor retention.

    Peer-to-Peer Fundraising (20%)

    • Manage peer fundraising campaigns (including event-based fundraising such as Seattle to Portland bike ride)
    • Develop participant fundraising resources and templates
    • Provide coaching and support to participant fundraisers
    • Track fundraising progress and engagement
    • Coordinate campaign communications

    Goal: Increase participation and revenue through peer fundraising.

    Corporate Sponsorships (20%)

    • Maintain sponsorship prospect pipeline
    • Coordinate outreach and sponsor meetings
    • Prepare sponsorship proposals and agreements
    • Manage sponsor stewardship and renewal tracking
    • Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits

    Goal: Build reliable sponsorship revenue and long-term partnerships.

    Donor Stewardship & Communications (15%)

    • Ensure timely donor acknowledgments
    • Maintain donor stewardship calendar
    • Coordinate donor impact communications
    • Support integration of fundraising into newsletters
    • Track donor engagement touchpoints

    Goal: Strengthen donor relationships and increase lifetime value.

    CRM & Development Operations (20%)

    • Maintain donor database accuracy and data standards
    • Generate fundraising reports and dashboards
    • Track progress toward revenue goals
    • Improve data entry consistency and reporting practices
    • Document fundraising workflows and templates
    • Coordinate donor records and reporting needs

    Goal: Build strong operational infrastructure for development.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Support Executive Director preparation for donor meetings
    • Assist with grant writing, tracking and reporting as needed
    • Provide logistical support for fundraising events
    • Participate in occasional evening or weekend fundraising activities

    Scope Clarification

    This role focuses on fundraising and development operations. Program operations, volunteer coordination, and trip logistics are not primary responsibilities of this position.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 3–5 years nonprofit fundraising, development, or related experience
    • Experience managing fundraising campaigns or donor programs
    • Strong organizational and project management skills
    • CRM/database experience
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Comfort participating in fundraising asks

    Preferred

    • Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising
    • Corporate sponsorship development experience
    • Experience in small or growing nonprofits
    • Experience supporting volunteer fundraisers
