Organizational Mission:
350 Colorado (350CO) is building a powerful grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis and transition to a sustainable future powered by clean renewable energy.
Position Summary:
350 Colorado, founded in 2013, is an independent, Colorado-based nonprofit organization (loosely affiliated with the global climate organization, 350.org). As an organization focused on building the climate movement, expanding our member/volunteer base and active volunteer participation are critical goals. 350 Colorado’s Movement Building & Volunteer Coordinator is our lead on meeting these goals. This position maximizes recruitment of new members, volunteers and interns, with a warm welcome and enthusiastic engagement, learning about their interests, skills and availability to help them plug into our activities. She/he/they provide training, scheduling, motivation, coordination and oversees tracking engagement of volunteers (with other key staff and volunteers) to maximize volunteer retention. 350 Colorado currently is leading numerous campaigns and coalitions and has 5 active local teams in Metro Denver, Boulder County, Roaring Fork, Colorado Springs and Northern Colorado. The Coordinator promotes and strengthens our organization, campaigns, coalitions and local teams and events by building public awareness, recruiting and engaging new members and maximizing volunteer participation. They/he/she supports existing local teams and facilitates creation of new 350 Colorado regional teams where volunteer interest exists. The Coordinator leads, organizes and maximizes our outreach efforts, such as tabling and canvassing at events, public presentations about our work, and event coordination.
