    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Under the general supervision of the Director, responsible for assisting in administration of the program. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

    • Assist in planning and coordination of recreational and educational activities.
    • Responsible for encouraging participation and taking attendance of virtual programming.
    • Assist in crisis intervention with client emergencies and issues of health or mental health deterioration.
    • Work with Director in program planning and development.
    • Keep activity logs and daily attendance of activities updated and entered into STARS/PeerPlace.
    • Compile statistics, prepare reports, and keep all required records and reports as requested.
    • Maintain resource file on benefits and entitlements and update regularly.
    • Responsible for registration and screenings of new and current clients as needed.
    • Provide Case Assistance and Information/Referrals to members as needed.
    • Ensure client files (electronic and physical) are complete, up to date, organized and properly stored when a client is inactivated.
    • Ensure units and case notes are entered regularly into STARS/PeerPlace database to comply with funder requirements.
    • Responsible for understanding DFTA standards and in the absence of the Director, be able to ensure compliance and locate records for DFTA and DOH and other regulatory agencies upon request.
    • Interact directly with seniors, staff, volunteers, and program vendors.
    • Ensure that staff are following necessary protocols and consult any issues leading to or needing disciplinary actions with Director.
    • In the absence of the Director, supervise the cook in all aspects of meal preparation and ensure compliance with all nutritional safety and compliance standards.
    • Represent agency in community and interagency activities.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Directly supervise custodian.
    • Supervise custodial and administrative volunteers/interns and sign time sheets as needed.
    • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports to ensure the delivery of high performance, acting as an enthusiastic, positive and motivated coach.
    • Along with the Director, responsible for the performance management of the teams to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in line with RiseBoro policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Assist the Director in training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
    • In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director will assume responsibilities of the Director.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office, and working knowledge of funding source database systems (Peer Place) preferred
    • Mental health first aid certificate preferred
    • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred

    • Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
    • Have a demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)

    EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, gerontology or nursing and one year of human service experience (this may include internships); or
    • Bachelors Degree in an unrelated field and two years of human services experience; or
    • Associates Degree in human services field with two years of direct senior center experience or three years of human service experience and/or case assistance experience; or
    • High School Graduate or GED equivalent with five years of experience in Senior Center/Social Adult Day or Case Assistance experience.
