    Scholarship Manager

    Reports To: Director of Grant and Impact Reporting

    Position Summary

    The Scholarship Manager administers the Foundation’s scholarship programs and trades workforce development wrap-around support. This role serves as the primary contact for recipients, donors, and educational institutions for scholarships. The Scholarship Manager also administers the trades wrap-around support programs, coordinating services that help students in the trades persist to credential completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Communicate with donors to implement their wishes, determine scholarship amounts each year, and confirm their fund balances for disbursement.
    • Organize and manage review committees for scholarships.
    • Reach out to local schools to make them aware of scholarship opportunities and to assist students during the application process.
    • Utilize existing software to track applicants; set up new scholarships in software. Manage paper-based applications.
    • Maintain accurate records.
    • Review applications for eligibility; coordinate selection committees and assign qualified students to committees.
    • Present scholarship awards at recognition ceremonies on behalf of the Foundation. This includes coordinating donors who wish to present with guidance counselors.
    • Initiate and send out payments to schools. Serve as primary point of contact for any questions regarding scholarships.
    • Confirm renewable scholarship recipients are in good standing prior to disbursing funds.
    • Generate reports from Community Suites SLM for program evaluation, board reporting, and grant compliance.
    • Steward donor relationships through regular updates, impact reports, and acknowledgment communications; collaborate with development staff on fund guidelines and new scholarship establishment.
    • Manage application, selection, and award processes for trades wrap-around support participants; serve as the primary program contact and proactively monitor student progress.
    • Coordinate wrap-around support services—including emergency financial assistance, transportation, housing referrals, tools/equipment support, and employer connections—by maintaining a strong community referral network.
    • Track student persistence, credential attainment, and employment outcomes; compile & send out data for grant reporting.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
    • Minimum two (2) years of experience in nonprofit work, scholarship administration, financial aid, or student services; equivalent experience considered.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Able to adapt communication style effectively for students, donors, board members, and schools.
    • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping.
    • Self-motivated and collaborative; committed to educational access and supporting students from underserved communities.
    • Build strong donor and partner experiences through consistent follow through.
    • Compassionately identify barriers to school completion and connect students to the resources they need.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

    Hours of Work Required

    Full time, 40 hours per week. Salaried position with benefits. Occasional evening and weekend hours required for award ceremonies, school events, and community meetings with flexible comp time offered.
