    About SAGE

    SAGE is the world’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning, and other self-identifying members of the community). Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources for LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers, advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBTQ+ older people and provides cultural competency training for aging providers and LGBTQ+ organizations

    About SAGECare

    SAGECare, SAGE’s social enterprise training and consulting division, delivers LGBTQ+ aging and person-centered care training to help professionals in senior living, healthcare, and related fields create safer, more inclusive environments for older adults. Through engaging online and in-person programs, SAGECare equips participants with practical tools, cultural insights, and strategies to ensure every older adult is treated with dignity, respect, and understanding.

    What we need

    SAGE is looking for a Learning Content Manager to help keep our SAGECare learning content strong, current, accessible, and useful for the organizations we serve. This role will develop and update curriculum, toolkits, online courses, learner materials, and related resources that support culturally competent, trauma-informed education for providers working with LGBTQ+ older people.

    Who we need

    We’re looking for someone who can take complex ideas and turn them into clear, practical learning materials that people can actually use. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor, understands adult learning theory, and enjoys building courses, resources, and tools for online, hybrid, and self-paced learning. This person should be comfortable managing several projects at once, keeping details organized, and working with colleagues, consultants, and subject matter experts to make sure SAGECare content stays accurate, accessible, and aligned with SAGE’s mission.

    The right candidate is collaborative, tech-savvy, organized, and adaptable, with a focus on quality, follow-through, learner experience, and SAGE’s commitment to LGBTQ+ equity in aging services.

    What You’ll Do:

    In this role, you will help create, update, and maintain SAGECare’s learning content and instructional design resources. This includes:

    • Developing and updating SAGECare curriculum, toolkits, learner materials, facilitator guides, slide decks, assessments, and other learning assets;
    • Designing engaging, accessible, and practical learning experiences for online, hybrid, and self-paced formats;
    • Building and updating asynchronous courses using Camtasia, Articulate 360, or similar course-building and video-editing software;
    • Managing learning content in SAGECare’s learning management systems, including TalentLMS, with responsibility for course setup, updates, testing, documentation, and coordination with the Client Services Specialist;
    • Working with SAGECare colleagues, consultants, and subject matter experts to keep content accurate, current, audience-appropriate, and aligned with SAGE’s mission and values;
    • Refreshing existing curriculum and learning assets based on learner feedback, evaluation data, client needs, and changes in the field;
    • Supporting quality standards across SAGECare learning products, including accessibility, consistency, tone, formatting, and usability;
    • Coordinate content translation, adaptation, and accessibility updates to support audience reach, quality, and learner experience;
    • Support data collection and reporting on course participation, completion, satisfaction, learner experience, and other key learning metrics;
    • Develop and refine evaluation tools that help measure reach, quality, learner experience, and impact, and use findings to recommend content improvements over time;
    • Helping develop and refine SAGECare learning products that respond to customer needs and strengthen program quality, reach, and sustainability;
    • Coordinate with other SAGECare team members to support timely contract fulfillment, customer service, and accurate content delivery;
    • Using program data, customer feedback, and learner insights to recommend practical improvements to curriculum, learning assets, and related processes;
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    We know that no one person will bring every single thing listed below. If you have many of these skills and experiences, and you’re excited about the role, we hope you’ll apply.

    Need-to-haves:

    • At least four (4) years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, adult learning, education, nonprofit programs, aging services, LGBTQ+ services, or a related field;
    • Demonstrated success with curriculum development, instructional design, applying adult learning methodology, writing, editing, and content organization.
    • Experience building or updating online learning content, asynchronous courses, toolkits, guides, slide decks, assessments, or other learner-facing materials.
    • Experience using course-building, video-editing, LMS, or e-learning authoring software, such as Camtasia, Articulate 360, TalentLMS, or similar tools.
    • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM/data system to enter, track, and report program, client, learner, contract, or related information.
    • Ability to understand and apply an equity framework in curriculum and learning design;
    • Strong judgment and sensitivity when developing content for learners at different stages of knowledge, comfort, and experience;
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deliverables, meet deadlines, document processes, and communicate progress clearly;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

    Nice-to-haves:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Experience developing learning content related to aging services, LGBTQ+ communities, health and human services, equity, or cultural competency;
    • Deep understanding and knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues, especially as they relate to aging, caregiving, healthcare, housing, or long-term care;
    • Creative and self-directed, with the ability to move projects forward while incorporating feedback from colleagues and subject matter experts;
    • Comfort collaborating with teams, consultants, and client-facing staff to keep content current and useful;
    • Proficiency in webinar platforms or virtual learning tools, such as Zoom, Teams, Webex, or similar platforms;
    • Experience with the administration of learning management systems, such as TalentLMS or similar platforms, including course setup, testing, updates, and reporting.
    • Experience learning new software platforms quickly and using technology to improve content quality, learner experience, reporting, and team workflows.

    Values

    • Enterprise mindset: An ability to think beyond a single course or project and build content that strengthens shared learning, visibility, revenue, and mission impact across the division and the organization.
    • Accountability: A strong sense of ownership and follow-through, with care for deliverables, quality, timelines, and results.
