Bear Creek Christian Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as a Minister of Children, Youth, and Families to lead and grow our ministries for youth (6th12
th grade), children (birth-5th grade), and their families. This position, which can be full or part-time, is responsible for leading our ministry to children, youth, and their families, fostering an environment where they can grow in their faith and relationship with God. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with strong organizational and communication skills who reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Administration & Scheduling:
- Oversee the scheduling of all part-time staff and volunteers for our nursery, Sunday School, and Children's Worship and Wonder programs, ensuring adequate coverage for all events and services.
- Coordinate the annual calendar of ministry events and activities.
- Administer and manage the ministry budget and resources.
- Curriculum & Training:
- Select, implement, and oversee age-appropriate curriculum for all children and youth programs.
- Recruit, train, and equip new and existing staff and volunteers.
- Develop and provide ongoing training opportunities to enhance the skills and faith of our volunteer team.
- Program Development:
- Innovate and create new programming that meets the evolving needs of our children, youth, and families.
- Plan and execute special events such as Vacation Bible School, fall festivals, and other family-focused activities.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as a key member of the church leadership team, working collaboratively with staff, elders, and other ministry leaders.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about ministry activities and opportunities.
- Provide pastoral care and support to families as needed.
- This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor, ensuring alignment with the church's overall vision and mission.
Qualifications
- A committed Christian with a passion for ministering to children, youth, and families.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in program administration and volunteer management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with various Christian curricula for children and youth.
- A team player who is flexible, adaptable, and willing to collaborate with others.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Christian Education, Theology) is preferred but not required.
- Trained in Children’s Worship & Wonder programming.
Compensation
- Salary: Up to $42,000 annually for a full-time position and corresponding with experience.
- Part-time compensation will be commensurate with experience and hours.
