    Job Description

    Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)

    Hours: Full-Time

Start Date: Late May/Early June 2025

    Compensation: $75,000-85,000 depending on experience

    ABOUT US:

At the Liberty Ecosystem, we're not just building projects and providing community programs - we are igniting a movement that reimagines urban investment as a catalyst for justice, equity, and transformation. Our mission is to forge a reparative, restorative, and regenerative economy that uplifts Black Los Angeles and fuels a revolution across the African diaspora. Every initiative we lead breathes life into our communities, strengthens bonds, and champions a sustainable, liberated future. This is more than a job. It’s a calling. Join us in crafting a legacy of positive change that echoes far beyond our beloved city.

    YOUR ROLE:

As the Operations Manager for a new social impact initiative within the Liberty Ecosystem, you will serve as the backbone of our day-to-day functionality, working at the intersection of strategy and execution. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and collaborating closely with the executive team, you will create and maintain the systems that empower our team to deliver bold, community-rooted solutions. You will oversee operations, supervise administrative staff, coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams, and help shape the infrastructure that enables our work to scale and thrive.

You will play a key role in executing and refining core systems and processes, developing streamlined workflows, and identifying the tools and resources that foster a clear, efficient, and values-aligned work environment. In collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders, you will ensure the organization’s operational and technological infrastructure remains responsive, resilient, and built for scale.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Lead the development, documentation, and improvement of organizational systems, workflows, and tools that align with our mission and fuel our operational excellence.
    • Design and implement core processes to support internal coordination, program execution, and cross-team collaboration.
    • Supervise administrative staff and ensure timely execution of routine operations and special projects.
    • Collaborate with executive and finance teams to inform operational planning, vendor relations, and budgeting for organizational infrastructure.
    • Serve as the internal business lead and thought partner in identifying and overcoming systemic inefficiencies, barriers, or bottlenecks.
    • Work with external vendors, consultants, and partners to ensure operational systems are aligned, scalable, and integrated with best-in-class tools.
    • Manage IT solutions and implement AI-integrated systems to streamline workflow, improve communication, and optimize data use across the organization.
    • Create and manage dashboards, reporting structures, and performance metrics to track operational progress and organizational health.
    • Represent the organization in community coalition spaces and ensure alignment between internal systems and external movement-building partnerships.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and collective accountability.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    • 3+ years of operational and process improvement experience or related experience preferred; nonprofit experience is a bonus.
    • A meticulous innovator who thrives on converting obstacles into opportunities for groundbreaking change.
    • Agile, fearless, and invigorated by the rapid pace of social transformation.
    • A magnetic communicator with deep cultural intelligence, fiercely committed to racial justice and community empowerment.
    • Analytical, strategic, and relentlessly focused on measurable, mission-driven impact.
    • Tech-Savvy problem solver proficient with operational and project management tools; a commitment to integration of emerging technologies, including AI.
    • A master of cross-functional collaboration, team empowerment, and driving toward audacious goals.
    • Expertise in developing and evaluating service delivery models and designing workflows.
    • Excellent project management and change management experience.
    • Excellent communication, influencing, persuasion, engagement and interpersonal skills.
    • The ability to gather and synthesize information that suggests new possibilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple commitments and drive complex projects simultaneously in a challenging and fluid environment.
    • Ability to build and manage long-term relationships and communicate with executive leaders.

    OUR CORE VALUES:

    • Mission Alignment and Advancement: We are dedicated to our collective goals and the advancement of our community.
    • Loyalty: Our commitment to our organization and to each other is unwavering.
    • Curiosity and Creativity: We encourage innovative thinking and the exploration of new ideas.
    • Initiation and Follow-Through: We are proactive in our efforts and committed to seeing projects to completion.
