    Descripción

    The Center for Health Design is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare through the design of the built environment. By advancing research, education, and collaboration, we empower industry professionals to create healthier, safer, and more supportive environments for patients, families, and healthcare staff.

    Position Summary

    The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide range of programs, research initiatives, and client projects that advance The Center’s mission. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

    The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, is detail oriented, and is comfortable managing both the big picture and day-to-day project details. Since this is a remote role, success also requires self-motivation and the ability to work productively in a home-office environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Management

      • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
      • Anticipate risks and address potential barriers to project success.
      • Collaborate with staff, consultants, and volunteers to achieve project goals.
      • Schedule, prepare, and facilitate meetings, including agendas and follow-up documentation.
      • Manage relationships with volunteers and support their contributions.
      • Serve as budget manager for assigned programs.
      • Write, edit, and deliver reports, proposals, and other project documentation.
      • Partner with Marketing to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
      • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
      • Travel occasionally for meetings and events.

    Leadership & Collaboration

      • Ensure projects align with The Center’s strategic plan.
      • Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and partners.
      • Identify opportunities to connect projects for greater organizational impact.
      • Collaborate with the project management team to improve processes and expand team capabilities.
      • Take initiative on special projects as assigned.

    Marketing & Communications Support

      • Partner with Marketing to develop strategies that increase program engagement and meet budget goals.
      • Maintain and update project collateral, ensuring brand consistency across materials and templates.
      • Research and introduce innovative ideas to enhance The Center’s communications and outreach.

    Professional Growth & Development

      • Document and improve at least one organizational process annually.
      • Represent The Center through speaking engagements, outreach, or industry involvement.
      • Obtain EDAC certification within an agreed timeframe.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • Minimum 4 years of experience in an administrative or program management role, preferably in a nonprofit or small organization.
      • Minimum 2 years of direct project management experience.
      • PMP Certification a plus.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with Photoshop preferred.
      • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project, or similar) strongly preferred.
      • Customer service, sales, marketing, or event planning experience a plus.
      • Familiarity with healthcare and/or design industries desirable.

    Work Environment

      • Remote office setting with standard office equipment.
      • Requires regular computer use and virtual communication.
      • Occasional travel to conferences and meetings.
