    Social Media Manager (Contractor)

Location: Remote (flexible to UK/US time zones)

    Reports to: Executive Director

    Organization Overview

The Elba Hope Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing sustainable agriculture, conservation, food security, youth education, and advocacy. Our mission is to drive positive change by fostering innovation, empowering communities, and building strategic partnerships that contribute to the future of these sectors today and for generations to come.

    Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and organized Part-Time Contract Social Media Manager to lead the strategic execution and day-to-day management of the Foundation’s social media presence. This role ensures our voice remains consistent, responsive, and impactful across platforms — supporting organizational goals in fundraising, advocacy, and program recruitment.

The Social Media Manager will develop and manage content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and related platforms, working closely with internal teams and external creative partners to highlight EHF’s work, amplify our mission, and engage our growing community.

    Key Responsibilities

    Content Strategy & Planning

    • Develop and maintain a nimble, month-by-month content calendar.
    • Align social media output with:
      • Core campaign moments (e.g., Earth Day, International Women’s Day, Knife Crime Awareness Week).
      • Program and fundraising milestones.
      • Mission-relevant cultural observances and announcements.

    Content Creation & Execution

    • Draft and schedule ~2–5 posts per platform per month, focusing on Instagram and LinkedIn.
    • Write engaging captions, source visuals, and coordinate with graphic/video partners as needed.
    • Maintain brand voice and ensure quality and consistency across all content.

    Engagement & Community Management

    • Monitor audience responses, mentions, and direct messages across platforms.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
    • Identify opportunities to amplify partner content or mission-aligned news.

    Collaboration & Coordination

    • Liaise with internal teams (program, fundraising, communications) to gather content, updates, and priorities.
    • Work with external partners (e.g., designers, video editors) on joint campaigns and activations.

    Analytics & Optimization

    • Track performance across platforms and deliver a short monthly engagement and growth summary.
    • Provide recommendations for content, timing, or strategy improvements based on analytics.

    Tools & Platforms

    • Comms Planning: Asana (content calendar, campaign tracker).
    • Email & CRM: HubSpot (donor segmentation, tracking).
    • Design: Canva Pro (templates, visuals).
    • Content: Google Drive (asset management), Frame.io.
    • Social Media: Publer (scheduling), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
    • Strong content creation skills (copywriting, basic design, curation).
    • Experience managing brand voice across multiple platforms.
    • Familiarity with Canva Pro, Publer, and analytics dashboards.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
    • Enthusiasm for EHF’s mission and values.

    Compensation & Hours

    • $25/hour
    • 6–10 hours per week, with flexibility to scale during campaign periods.
    • Contractor role, with performance reviews at 3- and 6-month intervals.

    Benefits

    • Flexible, remote work environment.
    • Opportunity to shape the digital presence of a growing global nonprofit.
    • Collaborative and mission-driven culture.
