Under the Supervision of the Director of Community Engagement, The Community Engagement Program and Instructional Coordinator's role is to assist in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of TWB's Dance DC program, Student Matinee program, Dance for All, and other community partnership events. Candidate must have prior teaching experience in the PreK-12 educational setting and be comfortable managing and providing feedback to teaching artist's staff. This job requires travel throughout the DMV area and occasional weekend availability.
Key Job Duties:
Be a thought partner with the Director of Community Engagement as TWB continues to define and develop community engagement goals and programs.
Actively seeks opportunities to personally connect with current and prospective community partners with a focus on increasing engagement.
Assist in managing Community Engagement Teaching Artists.
Observe Teaching Artists intermittently and provide support and feedback as needed.
Assist the Director of Community Engagement with program assessments.
Record all data collected from program assessments to provide quantifiable data for grant funding.
Work collaboratively across TWB departments as needed.
Dance DC Responsibilities:
Schedule Dance DC workshops and residencies.
Maintain tracking system for Dance DC school partners and teaching artists.
Support with existing and prospecting school partnerships and communications.
Collect demographic data liaised with other appropriate departments to collect audience demographics and data points.
Create and modify existing lesson plans for education programs serving grades PreK-12.
Assist in creating teacher resource guides and other printed materials for education programs.
Assist with Teaching Artists training.
Teach Dance DC residency classes as assigned.
Dance for All Responsibilities:
Represent TWB at Dance for All events.
Maintain tracking system of all Dance for All events and partnerships.
Help facilitate and lead events as needed.
Collect demographic data liaised with other appropriate departments to collect audience demographics and data points.
Manage TWB Volunteers contact information, and all correspondence associated with events.
Student Matinee Program Responsibilities:
Assist with the logistics and coordination of 1600+ students and chaperones at TWB's annual Nutcracker student matinee performance.
Collaborate with the TWB Box Office team to manage and track student matinee ticket reservations.
Manage a spreadsheet with participating schools' data and audience demographics.
Assist with all correspondence associated with the student matinee event details and logistics.
Manage TWB Volunteers contact information, and all correspondence associated with event.
Schedule preshow workshops for student matinees (if applicable).
