    Descripción

March For Our Lives (MFOL) is seeking a bold, creative, and movement-aligned leader to serve as our Associate Director of Communications and Digital—a key role that will shape the voice, visual identity, and cultural impact of one of the most influential youth-led movements in America.

This isn’t a traditional nonprofit comms job. We’re looking for someone who sees narrative as a tool for disruption, who knows how to turn culture into action, and who is ready to take risks to cut through the noise. You’ll lead all external-facing storytelling and digital engagement—bringing to life campaigns that energize young people, pressure the systems enabling gun violence, and spotlight the voices that too often go unheard.

While you’ll have access to consultancy support for major comms campaigns, you should be prepared to develop overall strategy across media/PR and digital. You’ll report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with other Associate Directors to move fast, think big, and center creativity in everything we do.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development and execution of MFOL’s integrated marketing and communications strategy—aligning messaging, branding, design, and digital presence with key campaigns, fundraising moments, and organizational priorities
    • Manage and evolve MFOL’s visual and narrative identity across all platforms (social, web, print, email, video), ensuring consistency, creativity, and cultural resonance with youth audiences
    • Design and execute digital campaigns that mobilize supporters, shift public narratives, elevate underrepresented voices, and respond to real-time movement moments
    • Oversee content development and publishing across all digital channels—including social media, website, and video—ensuring MFOL’s voice is bold, clear, and movement-aligned
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Development to ensure narrative and design cohesion across fundraising communications
    • Partner with consultants to lead media relations, including engaging with reporters, cultivating reporter relationships, and developing strategic earned media opportunities
    • Draft and edit high-impact communications products, including press releases, talking points, newsletters, op-eds, video scripts, and social copy
    • Produce visual and written content that uplifts youth leaders, centers survivors and impacted communities, and exposes the systems enabling gun violence
    • Monitor trends in politics, media, culture, and the gun violence prevention movement to inform rapid response and long-term messaging strategy
    • Track key engagement metrics (e.g., reach, CTR, sentiment, donations) and use data to inform creative direction, A/B testing, and campaign improvements

    Qualifications

    • Bring 3+ years of experience in communications, digital, marketing, or creative strategy—especially in social movements or digital media
    • Write and create with boldness, clarity, and a strong point of view
    • Thrive in fast-moving, experimental environments and lead both day-to-day execution and long-term creative strategy
    • Experience bringing brands to life—visually, narratively, and emotionally
    • Navigate digital platforms with fluency and use them to activate, not just inform
    • Ability to pitch to press with confidence and spark momentum even without media coverage
    • Turn chaotic cultural moments into sharp, timely, action-driving content
    • Help co-build a team culture that is collaborative, caring, and youth-centered
    • Reject the gun lobby and channel your creativity into campaigns that expose and confront the systems enabling gun violence
