    About Us

    The Massachusetts Immigrant Collaborative (MIC or the Collaborative) is an engaged statewide partnership of 15, predominantly immigrant-led, direct service organizations supporting immigrant communities of Massachusetts.

    MIC was established in April of 2020 out of a need to address inequities faced by immigrant communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that when immigrant communities thrive, our entire nation prospers. MIC expands the capacity of its partner organizations through targeted funding initiatives, shared resources, capacity building, and cross-organization collaboration. By providing immigration legal services, emergency assistance, economic mobility programs, and advocating for equitable policies; we support immigrants along their path to stability and economic mobility, with dignity and respect.

    Responsibilities

    The Development Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the following:

    Strategic Planning

    • Develop short and long-term revenue goals in collaboration with with the Executive Director
    • Implement a fundraising strategy that leads to the expansion and sustainability of MIC programs
    • Build board capacity for fundraising
    • Ensure that fundraising efforts are aligned with MIC’s strategic priorities

    Major Gifts, Corporate and Individual Donors

    • Build a donor pipeline and engagement strategy
    • Oversee timely acknowledgement and personalized thank you letters
    • Create personalized pitches and proposals for prospective donors
    • Prepare the Executive Director and board with briefings and materials
    • Manage corporate partnerships and engagement
    • Plan donor engagement events and convenings
    • Leverage MIC partner and network partner events to build relationships

    Foundation and Government Grants

    • Work with the Foundation Relations Director to research grant prospects
    • Collaborate with the Foundation Relations Director in the drafting of LOIs, grant proposals, narratives and reporting requirements
    • Coordinate with program staff and finance team to develop grant budgets
    • Oversee eligibility, compliance and reporting requirements for government grants

    Marketing and Communications

    • Maintain a compelling and cohesive MIC brand narrative
    • Manage monthly newsletter and fundraising campaigns
    • Create messaging toolkits, story libraries, and case studies
    • Translate donor outcomes and data into donor-facing narratives
    • Work with communications associate to manage website copy and social media campaigns

    CRM and Data Management

    • Produce dashboards, revenue forecasts and fundraising reports
    • Administer and maintain CRM (Customer Relations Manager)
    • Assess ROI of fundraising goals and strategies
    • Provide timely fundraising reports to Executive Director and Board
    • Collaborate with finance team to track unrestricted and restricted funds
    • Work with finance team to provide documentation related to audits

    About You

    MIC recognizes that there are numerous ways to gain skills and experiences. We remain open to candidates who can showcase these qualifications in alternative ways. We will require that a candidate has a deep commitment to the Collaborative’s mission. High priority will be given to candidates with lived immigrant experience in the U.S., preferably in Massachusetts.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • 5+ years of fundraising experience
    • Ability to engage board members in fundraising
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience planning and managing fundraising events preferred
    • Experience managing major gifts programs
    • Grant writing and proposal development skills and experience
