Legal Aid DC seeks an experienced attorney to serve as a Deputy Director for the DC Resource Bridge, a community-wide coordinated intake and referral program.
Since 1932, Legal Aid has provided civil legal assistance to clients in individual cases and engaged in systemic reform. Currently, we provide individual representation in consumer law, domestic violence/family law, housing, public benefits, immigration, and appellate matters. We also help individuals with the collateral consequences of their involvement with the criminal legal system. From the experiences of our clients, we identify opportunities for law reform, public policy advocacy, and systemic impact and appellate litigation.

About the DC Resource Bridge
The DC Bar Foundation is the leading funder of civil legal aid in the District of Columbia, committed to the vision that residents of the District have equal access to justice, regardless of knowledge, income, or power. Through a network-driven approach, DCBF brings together invested stakeholders to identify and address unmet civil legal needs, develop solutions and drive meaningful impact to transform DC’s legal aid system into one that provides a fair and equal legal experience for all.
The DC Resource Bridge (DCRB), a collaboration with the DC Bar Foundation and legal services organizations across the District hosted by Legal Aid, connects residents to the most appropriate legal referral to meet their needs. The DCRB currently connects residents with help in family law, public benefits, consumer law, and appellate cases. The DCRB will grow to cover all traditional legal services practice areas. The Deputy Director will work with the DCRB Director and current Deputy Directory to expand and manage the day-to-day work of the DCRB, by collaborating with the DCBF, legal service providers, the court, and community-based organizations. The Deputy Director will supervise non-attorney legal Navigators.

Salary and Benefits
The DC Resource Bridge Supervisor will be paid in accordance with Legal Aid's policy based on years of relevant full-time experience. Lateral hires will receive credit for years of relevant work experience. Starting salaries are as follows:
Legal Aid generally provides two salary increases per year, depending on funding availability: a cost-of-living increase at the beginning of the year and a step increase in July.
Legal Aid offers a generous benefits package that includes fully paid health insurance for the employee, annual discretionary retirement match, 13 paid holidays, personal leave, and generous annual and sick leave allotments starting at 15 days each per year.
This position is not included in the bargaining unit represented by the National Organization of Legal Services Workers, UAW Local 2320 and is categorized as a confidential employee.
New hires start with a 4-day in-person schedule for the first two months of employment, then move to a 2-3 day a week hybrid schedule.
Legal Aid offers a generous benefits package including eligibility for fully paid health insurance for the employee, annual retirement match, short term disability, life insurance for the employee, 13 paid holidays, 25 days of annual leave per year and 15 days of sick leave per year.
