POSITION DESCRIPTION
Hispanic Access Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on finance professional to serve as our next Director of Finance or Chief of Finance, depending on qualifications and experience. This individual will lead the organization’s financial operations and strategy, while also contributing directly to day-to-day accounting, grants management, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate is not only a strategic thinker, but also someone who is comfortable “rolling up their sleeves” to ensure operational excellence in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both strategic oversight and the ability to execute key financial functions directly—particularly in grants management, reporting, and system oversight.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the individual will oversee all financial operations including accounting, grants and contracts management, compliance, audits, reporting, budgeting, and financial strategy. This individual will supervise a team (currently three direct reports) and serve as a key thought partner to the leadership team, playing a vital role in sustaining the organization’s financial health and driving strategic decisions.

This is a fully remote position. While location is flexible, preference will be given to candidates located in or near the Washington, D.C. metro area.
