    New York Disaster & Interfaith Services (NYDIS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit faith-based federation of faith communities, human services providers and charitable organizations who work in partnerships.     Reporting to the Director, NYDIS’ Food Bank & Humanitarian Hub (HUB NYC) Partnership & Volunteer Manager will lead all external relationship-building, government relations, food and humanitarian donors, procurement of cultural and religious goods and food, and volunteer coordination activities. This position is responsible for cultivating partnerships to ensure a continuous, culturally appropriate, and mission-aligned supply of food and essential goods for distribution across New York City. This role is an intersectional position designed to expand the reach and sustainability of the HUB NYC and future staff expansion in these key areas. The ideal candidate is an established leader in NYC, relationship-driven, highly organized, entrepreneurial, and deeply aligned with NYDIS’ interfaith and equity-centered mission. HUB NYC is NYDIS’ partnership with Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) and other nonprofits.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with the NYC faith-sector, government, donors, houses of worship operating food pantries and clothing distribution and other grass-roots community-based organizations across NYC seeking to strengthen the Hub’s distribution network.as well as volunteers to support the HUB.
    • Identify, recruit and formalize new faith-based and community partners to address growing unmet needs.
    • Serve as primary liaison to partner sites, ensuring clear communication, expectations, and accountability.
    • Collaborate internally to develop and implement procurement strategies to secure shelf-stable, refrigerated, cultural/religious appropriate food, clothing, humanitarian supplies through donations and strategic purchasing.
    • Cultivate relationships with corporate donors, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, grocery chains, and regional food suppliers. Coordinate internally to negotiate donation agreements, bulk pricing, and deliveries.
    • Track and document all donations, in-kind value, and procurement metrics for reporting and compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to health/safety standards, religious dietary restrictions, and culturally appropriate sourcing.
    • Recruit, onboard, and retain volunteers for warehouse operations, distribution days, food packing events, and emergency response activations in partnership with NYDIS’ Chaplain.
    • Develop volunteer partnerships with corporate groups, congregations, universities, seminaries, and CBOs.
    • Coordinate volunteer scheduling in collaboration with warehouse leadership to meet operational demands.
    • Ensure all volunteers complete required documentation and background checks (when applicable) in alignment with NYDIS policies. Track volunteer hours and engagement metrics for reporting and impact documentation.
    • Provide monthly reports on partnerships, procurement metrics, volunteer engagement, and donation valuation.
    • Support rapid-response procurement and volunteer mobilization during disasters or humanitarian surges.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in NFP Management, Theology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum 4–6 years experience in interfaith partnership development, procurement, nonprofit operations, food distribution, or humanitarian logistics.
    • Knowledge of food sourcing, culturally appropriate food distribution, and religious dietary considerations.
    • Demonstrated success building external partnerships and securing in-kind or corporate donations.
    • Experience coordinating volunteers or managing volunteer programs preferred.
    • Highly organized with strong data tracking and reporting capacity.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends and respond during emergency activations.

    Compensation: $80,000 range, commensurate with experience - with excellent benefits.
