    Hours: Full Time (40 hours/week)

    Job Summary:

    Vot-ER is seeking a Senior Development Manager or Development Manager to lead elements of the organization's Development operations. The (Senior) Development Manager will report to the Vice President of Partnerships and Organizing and work in deep collaboration with the organization’s Development team to support Foundation, Corporate and Individual Giving portfolios and projects.

    Vot-ER works to integrate nonpartisan civic engagement into healthcare. Vot-ER develops nonpartisan civic engagement tools and programs for every corner of the healthcare system—from private practitioners to medical schools to hospitals. It transforms routine healthcare visits into opportunities for civic empowerment, partnering with trusted health professionals, and reaching historically underrepresented communities.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Provide project management of donor cultivation and engagement activities, including events, briefings, webinars, etc (both virtual and in person).
    • With organizational leadership, identify and facilitate connections to priority prospects.
    • Develop and update fundraising messaging and materials.
    • Create and drive the execution of a strategic, creative fundraising plan for individual (i.e. small dollar/monthly donor and Doctor advisor) donor engagement.
    • Create and drive the execution of a strategic, creative fundraising plan for alternative fundraising streams (i.e. corporate fundraising, donor advised funds) initiatives.
    • Provide direct support to the Executive Director and Vice President of Partnerships in development-oriented relationships.
    • Partner with the Development team leadership to prospect and track foundation and individual donors for major gifts.
    • Collaborate with the Development team leadership in developing fundraising micro-strategies and donor engagement plans.
    • Oversee maintenance of the donor database and internal systems.
    • Write and review grant proposals and reports prior to submission; ensure timely submission.
    • Ensure fundraising strategies, donor communications, and engagement practices reflect the organization’s commitment to DEI.
    • Analyze donor data, giving trends, and campaign outcomes to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
    • Senior Development Manager only: Directly supervise development staffer

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to gain trust and give respect to others through honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, and authenticity.
    • Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines for multiple projects.
    • Comfort with building from scratch. Success in this role depends on your willingness to try strategic new approaches, take ownership, and create systems and strategies.
    • Drive to seek what can be improved and offer ways to fix any potential roadblocks.
    • Comfort admitting what you don’t know and recognizing that feedback is part of the learning process.
    • Willingness to engage with broader Vot-ER team and programs to best understand how we work and with whom, to be reflected in Development initiatives
    • Familiarity with donor-oriented CRMs (i.e. GiveButter, Salesmate)
    • Familiarity with technology and project management platforms: Google suite, Slack, Asana
    • Comfort and familiarity using AI in fundraising practices
    • A strong commitment to Vot-ER’s mission.
    • Demonstrated success in project management, and people management.
    • Demonstrated success in supporting principals in their development activities.
    • Demonstrated flexibility and openness in responding to changing work priorities.

    Education and Experience:

    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
    • Experience in a fundraising role preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working at a computer.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to travel a minimum of 2 times per year.
