    Descripción

    Title: Director of Finance and Administration

    Status: Exempt, Full-time, Salaried

    Reports to: President & CEO

    Description: The Director of Finance and Administration oversees financial operations and ensures efficient organizational management by handling budgeting, operations, financial reporting, risk management, and administrative processes like human resources, information technology, and facilities. Key responsibilities include developing strategic financial plans in concert with the President & CEO, managing cash flow, overseeing compliance, and directing teams to ensure accurate financial records and streamlined administrative functions. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders and senior management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Management:

    • Develop, manage, and execute the organization’s budget in partnership with the President & CEO.
    • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping.
    • Manage cash flow and conduct financial forecasting.
    • Ensure financial systems and policies are in place and followed.
    • Prepare financial reports and present them to the Board of Directors.
    • Coordinate the annual audit and liaise with external accounting firms.
    • Manage banking, investments and payroll processes.

    Administration & Operations:

    • Oversee administrative functions and facilities management.
    • Develop and implement human resources functions, policies and programs.
    • Manage contracts and vendor relations.
    • Oversee risk management activities and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

    Leadership & Strategy:

    • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic decision-making.
    • Partner with department leaders to establish and manage organizational budgets.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve financial and administration operations.
    • Mentor and train finance and administrative staff.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Proved experience in financial management, budgeting and accounting.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Expertise in financial software and reporting tools.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
    • Knowledge of relevant tax and accounting laws and regulations.

    Demonstrated Ability:

    • Manage all operation areas and fiscal needs to include the ability to analyze situations, act independently, and make decisions, established priorities, plan and schedule work and maintain total confidentiality.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Three (3) years' experience managing accounting systems, with at least two (2) year experience in computerized systems.
    • Two (2) years' experience in budget preparation and implementation.
    • Two (2) years' experience in human resource management.
    • Other preferred experience to include: computer software and networking systems knowledge and knowledge of grant and contract management.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university or equivalent experience.

    Other Requirements:

    • Capable of providing Employment Eligibility Verification.
    • Thorough knowledge of general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Complete and pass a background screening.
    • Possess a Valid California Driver’s license and evidence of insurance coverage.

    • This is sedentary work in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, talk, hear, reach above and below shoulders; use hand and finger dexterity, keyboarding and making and receiving telephone calls. The employee may be required on occasion to lift and or carry up to 25 lbs.
    • The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Occasionally the employee will be required to perform work out of the office or other facilities.

    Location and Work Hours:

    • Work is performed at the corporate offices at 3841 N. Freeway Blvd., Suite 210 Sacramento, CA 95834-1948 or telecommuting, as necessary, and only as approved by President & CEO.
    • Work hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and place of work may change due to special situations. Some weekends may be required.
