Monteverde Friends School: Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator (professional services contract)
Monteverde Friends School seeks a collaborative, passionate, and experienced fundraiser and communicator to serve as the Fundraising and Outreach coordinator. The ideal candidate will have strong conversational skills in both English and Spanish, fundraising experience, excellent writing skills in English, and a strong belief in the mission and philosophy of our small bilingual Quaker school.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- At least three years of relevant experience in fundraising, community outreach, communications, and/or non-profit work.
- Conversant in Spanish, fluent in English.
- Experience and/or knowledge of Quaker organizations strongly preferred.
- A strong sense of fundraising ethics and practices, and respect for confidentiality of donor information.
Major responsibilities include:
- Oversee and track our year-round fundraising initiatives, including an Annual Appeal to donors in the United States and Canada.
- Identify, cultivate, and steward meaningful relationships with established and potential donors.
- Design and implement a plan to engage local and alumni donors.
- Develop an alumni database.
- Manage all donor information through the DonorSnap database.
- Create and deliver donation appeals, monthly newsletters, donation appeals, and thank-you notes.
- Design and share social media posts to build the MFS audience.
- Identify grant resources, generate grant proposals, and, when funded, provide timely grant reports.
Contract duration:
- 12 months
- Fees: To be agreed upon by both parties upon delivery of specific products
Additional requirements:
- Must be registered with the Costa Rican Tax Authority (Hacienda) as a self-employed worker.
- Must issue electronic invoices.
- Must comply with social security obligations to the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) and Workers' Compensation Insurance.
