    TITLE: Director of Corporate Relations

    STATUS: Full Time Exempt

    LEVEL: Director

    DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Senior Director of Corporate & External Relations

    TRAVEL: Up to 10% of travel is required to fulfill job responsibilities which may include evenings/overnight and weekends for the annual meeting (Convergence), and/or staff retreats

    POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

    Responsible for effective execution of major gift fundraising to grow corporate revenue to ensure consistent growth of college-wide mission and strategic plan objectives, which exceeds $10 million annually. This includes identifying, soliciting, and securing financial support from existing and new qualified corporate donor prospects in pharmaceutical, biotech, and other related industries as appropriate.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage an existing portfolio of major and transformational-level corporate donors with focus on soliciting and closing donor contractual renewals and requests ranging from $200,000-$2,000,000; develop and maintain relationships.
    • Grow portfolio to include major donor corporate donor prospects ($50,000+), with a focus on, but not limited to, pharmaceutical companies who have therapies and/or research pipelines in Autoimmune, Immunology and/or Inflammation space, biotech, medical device companies.
    • Collaborate with internal staff teams to identify corporate engagement and funding opportunities college-wide, develop approach strategies designed to meet financial goals.

    • Understand, interpret, and articulate college-wide corporate engagement and funding opportunities to external audiences as appropriate.
    • Meet or exceed monthly, annual activity metrics, including, but not limited to number of contacts, visits completed, gifts closed.
    • Conduct, utilize comprehensive prospect research and prospect management, including prospect identification, prioritization, biographical and financial research, and capacity analysis.
    • Work collaboratively with their supervisor, the head of the philanthropy team, and Strategic Relations staff to ensure a consistent and strategic approach to fundraising to maximize financial support for the College.
    • Manage Corporate Roundtable activities, including stewardship meetings, Quarterly College Updates, stewardship report creation and briefings, appointments, and contractual agreements, of those companies in assigned portfolio who meet the Corporate Roundtable criteria.
    • Prepare cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship materials for all corporate donors in assigned portfolio.
    • Ensure all contractual obligations with corporate donors in the assigned portfolio are fulfilled.
    • Ensure accurate, timely, input of prospects’ actions in Raiser’s Edge database, including but not limited to, contacts made, contact notes, and other discovery information toward prospect moves’ strategy.
    • Attend regular staff meetings, and one-on-one meetings with the head of the philanthropy team.
    • Responsible for an annual revenue goal based on corporate relationship activity and dollars raised.
    • Manage the Corporate Matching Gift program, including developing strategies to grow engagement.
    • Research, develop, and submit grant proposals to corporate foundations and corporate giving programs outside the pharmaceutical sector, aligning organizational priorities with corporate philanthropic initiatives.
    • Translate programmatic outcomes into compelling narratives that demonstrate impact and align with corporate partner priorities

    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or senior leadership to advance organizational goals.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA/BS plus eight (8) years’ experience in direct major gift fundraising experience managing high-level, strategic “C Suite” and community relations donor relationships with demonstrated success in asking for and securing gifts ($1M+), preferably in a healthcare environment or health-related organization, or MS/MA/MBA/JD with five (5) years’ experience in related field, or more than twelve (12) years’ experience with no degree.
    • CFRE desired.
    • Proactive strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to maintain accountability, work independently and creatively while functioning as part of a collaborative team.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively and professionally, utilizing considerable tact and diplomacy, toward motivating and engaging corporate constituents.
    • Willingness and ability to schedule and maintain travel nationally as needed to attend program and fundraising activities, including evenings and weekends.
    • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of virtual and direct messaging platform (Zoom).
    • Advanced knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database system, preferred.
    • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word is required. Web browsing proficiency is also required.
    • Familiarity with virtual meeting software applications such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or similar is required.
