Position: Lead Organizer, People Over Billionaires Organizing Project
California Common Good (CCG)
Organization: California Common Good brings together community groups and labor unions
committed to organizing growth, power building, and a long-term agenda for economic, racial,
climate and social justice. CCG was launched in January 2023 and is anchored by ACCE (Alliance
of Californians for Community Empowerment), AFSCME Local 3299 and United Teachers Los
Angeles (UTLA). Our organizational partners have a shared analysis that, among other things,
recognizes that the current political economy is best serving the wealthy and leaving the rest of
us behind and that California needs to put the full force of its economic power to work ensuring
that our communities are livable, affordable, sustainable and healthy.
Under Trump, the billionaires are quickly consolidating their power. They are waging war on
working people and our communities - destroying our democracy, dismantling our public
infrastructure and weaponizing our government against us - scapegoating and attacking
immigrants and communities of color to keep us in fear and divide us. The People over
Billionaires organizing project is focused on getting our people and state in motion against the
billionaire first agenda and towards a people first agenda - pushing back against the corporate
billionaires enabling authoritarianism through defensive campaigns that protect our community
and offensive campaigns against the corporate oligarchs to hold them accountable drive up the
cost of compliance and move defections that secure wins for our people.
Position: The Lead Organizer will be responsible for supporting core partners in engaging in the
People Over Billionaires campaign. This will include managing relationships with the staff of
organizational partners to support them in their organizing around People over Billionaires -
activating their members into action campaigns against the billionaires and developing base
building campaigns. In addition, the lead will be responsible for driving campaign coordination
for one or more of the corporate billionaire targets including creating campaign plans and
metrics, coordinating campaign efforts with partner organizations, developing campaign
materials and training tools for organization staff, and training community and member leaders.
The lead will also be responsible for managing shared calendar.
Location: This position can be based in any of ACCE offices (one of the primary anchors for the
campaign) - Sacramento, Richmond, Oakland, Los Angeles, or San Diego.
