    POSITION OVERVIEW

The Summer Youth Program Instructor will be responsible for leading and implementing activities for MLOV’s Summer Youth Program, aimed at youth in grades 6-12 (ages 11-18), in partnership with other program staff, interns, and/or volunteers. The Summer Youth Program Instructor is responsible for the development, growth, and skill achievement of Summer Youth Program participants.

This role is a full-time (35 hours), temporary summer position from late June to mid-August 2026, with the possibility of extension as a part-time role for the 2026-2027 After School Program (September 2026 to April 2027).

The desired start date for this role is June 22, 2026 with an end date of Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Pay for this role is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour. This role reports to the Youth Leadership Programs Manager.

    MLOV’s Summer Youth Program

MLOV’s Summer Youth Program primarily serves first, 1.5, and second-generation immigrants, mainly from low-income, Spanish-speaking households. For five weeks during the summer, 50-55 rising 6th through 12th graders focus on life skills for their futures, explore who they are, and gain confidence in their leadership abilities. They build friendships with like-minded youth and go on weekly field trips.

As staff, we prioritize creating a sense of community and belonging, take an empathetic and assets-based approach, and make an intentional choice to show up for our youth and community every day. In 2025, over 87% of our students felt like they belonged and contributed to making the space safe.
