    ABOUT FVAP

Family Violence Appellate Project (FVAP) is a statewide California nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and other forms of gender-based abuse by appealing harmful trial court decisions at no cost to survivors.

For more than 14 years, FVAP has worked to promote the safety and well-being of survivors and their children. By working at the appellate court level, FVAP’s cases establish statewide legal precedent that can protect thousands of survivors and families across California.

FVAP serves diverse communities across rural, suburban, and urban regions throughout the state.

    Our Values

Diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and justice are core values at FVAP. Our team is committed to operating through anti-oppression and anti-racist practices. We believe diverse perspectives lead to stronger and more creative solutions and are committed to building a legal system that promotes fairness and safety for survivors.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    • Support the development and lead the execution of individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies designed to increase engagement with recurring donors, major donors, and corporate partners
    • Attend all FVAP events and represent FVAP at grantor and donor events and other occasions to interact with current and potential supporters
    • Manage major donor and corporate giving programs in compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations
    • Expand and diversify FVAP’s donor base

    • Leading the planning and execution of FVAP’s Battle of the Bands fundraising event, which raises $100,000-150,000 annually, including cultivation and solicitation of corporate and individual sponsors, coordinating multiple vendors, performers, and volunteers, and leading the pre-event fundraising outreach to band members, giving networks, and FVAP’s existing donor base
    • Manage additional fundraising campaigns and events as needed

    Strategic Leadership

    • Partner with the Executive Director to develop and refine FVAP’s fundraising strategy
    • Implement the organization’s annual fundraising plan and associated revenue goals
