    Summary:

    The Case Worker Manager provides trauma-informed case management and supervises Case Workers in the delivery of client-centered services. This position is responsible for overseeing the intake, assessment, and development of individualized service plans for clients experiencing poverty, housing instability, or other barriers. The Case Manager ensures program compliance, supports the professional development of Case Workers, and helps maintain the quality and effectiveness of services provided. This role requires familiarity with the Los Angeles County Coordinated Entry System (CES), HMIS data entry, and navigation of local homeless and public assistance systems. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or related degree and bring strong leadership, empathy, and a deep understanding of the social service landscape in Los Angeles County.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide trauma-informed case management services to clients, including intake, needs assessment, individualized service planning, and referrals in areas such as housing assistance, eviction prevention, employment, food access, and healthcare.
    • Supervise and mentor Case Workers by providing daily oversight, coaching, and support to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality service delivery.
    • Lead the development, implementation, and periodic review of departmental policies, procedures, and workflows, ensuring alignment with best practices, contract obligations, and agency goals.
    • Support staff onboarding, training, and performance evaluations; model and reinforce high professional standards.
    • Maintain a limited caseload of clients experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including those needing eviction prevention or housing retention services.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and internal databases, including documentation for CES referrals and LAHSA-funded services.
    • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and public agencies to facilitate access to homeless prevention services and other support systems.
    • Represent the organization at CES case conferences, community meetings, outreach events, and interagency workgroups.
    • Remain current on homeless prevention best practices, LA County homeless services, CES protocols, and relevant funding or regulatory updates.
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with health and social service providers and ensure that staff have accurate and up-to-date information about access and referral to these services.
    • Ensure confidentiality, uphold client rights, and support a client-centered, equitable approach to service delivery.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.

      Supervisory:

      This position provides oversight and supervision to members of the case worker team, including but not limited to case workers, support staff, interns, and trainees. Additionally, this role is responsible for supervising Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) interns.

      Qualifications:

      Education/Experience

      An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

        • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW), Human Services, Psychology, or related field required.
        • Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management required; prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
        • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management databases (including HMIS).
        • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese highly preferred.

      Required Skills/Abilities

        • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to hire.
        • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and data management systems; and willing to learn other software systems needed for efficiency.
        • Proficient in general office equipment including printers, copiers, fax, multi-line phone system, and can follow verbal and written instructions.
        • Outstanding communicator with excellent speaking, writing, and listening skills.
        • Strong leader, capable of uniting and engaging staff for performance.
        • Ability to relate well with other people and demonstrate compassion and empathy.
        • Ability to publicly advocate on behalf of FUCI and the people it serves.
        • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while exercising good judgment and a high level of confidentiality.
        • Ability to build collaborative partnerships with staff, clients, and partner organizations.
        • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
        • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
        • Aptitude to communicate and work effectively under stressful conditions with people who are mentally ill, physically disabled, or economically disadvantaged; including people who may present challenging behaviors.
